Ex EU Sale now on

Haven't seen this posted yet so apologies if it has been mentioned already. Mods feel free to move as appropriate.

The UK sale is on but the CW fares ex LHR are generally not great IMO.

Received an email yesterday from BA for the family member registered in Germany that there is a sale on there as well now. Only seems to be up to CW class so does not include F however, may be of use to others here, especially as a few extra TP's to be gained.

BA German website sale fares

For example a HAM-LHR-YVR comes out about £ 500 cheaper than ex UK.

Obviously the usual issues with ex EU flights needs to be taken into account but hopefully helps some on the board. Netherlands and France seem to also have the sale on...others may as well.

Cheers, BotB.

I am reasonably proficient at figuring out when I can expect the ex-London sales to happen, but do ex-EU sales happen to a similar calander? i.e. if this is a new year's sale, are there any likely later in the year?

Oops, sorry! I did go back 3 pages to see if it was mentioned but the Ex EU sale thread was on page 4...typical....Doh.

Anyway, for those that missed that and until the mods move it over then...

Thanks for pointing this out.

£1600 ex-AMS to BKK in CW (also ex-BRU).

That's around £1200 cheaper than the current UK price. Best ex-EU fare to BKK for a while.

1600EUR all inc. BCN to NRT in CW return for travel outbound in 2 weeks time. Amazing value.

The 350EUR change fees are a bit scary and not what I'm used to, but you pays your money, you takes your chances...

Can't see that price at all. Lowest I can find is 2400EUR.

Do these fares allow stopovers in London?

Gosh BRU - LHR - SFO and rtn in J for GBP2000 as opposed to GBP3200 for LHR - SFO - LHR.

Couple this with my post in the FFP value for money thread, and one could pay for the LHR - BRU - LHR to pre-position oneself for 27 quid!!!

Thus getting to SFO from LHR for GBP2027!

The fare I looked at ex-AMS allowed a stopover in London for an extra 200 Euros

This seems a great sale - shame I'm locked into all my travel for this year!

Not that many data points however January and May seem to be the months for ex-EU sales. A (non-exhaustive) list of previous non-UK sales can be found at the end of this post: Post #3 of Current Sale thread

ex-EU to BKK

Hi,

Intrigued by this as looking to go to BKK in March, approx £2.8k from LHR so settled on qatar for £1.8k instead - Thanks to this thread I've found a £1.6k to BKK from amsterdam. But, forgive my ignorance - can this be above board - TP and avios earning etc? Is the process that I get myself to AMS (on BA I guess!) separately, then fly back to LHR and on to BKK, and then just don't transfer for the return to AMS?

Seems to good to be true - but maybe its just the power of Flyertalk?!

Suggest you read this part of the sticky http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/briti...l#post13303030

No, there is no catch, you get full TP and Avios - and yes you have to get yourself to AMS on a separate ticket - you can't check a bag all the way from LHR.
