Tonights BA278 LHR-SFO

Gone into GLA enroute and now delayed, apparent medical diversion. No ETD as yet

I hope everything's OK. I wonder why they didn't use Shannon?

The direct route from LHR to SFO and LAX takes the BA 744's directly between EDI and GLA as they are heading north. I've done the flights a good few times and looked down on this part of Scotland as we passed back over "home" having flown EDI to LHR earlier in the day.

Headed up east of EDI to just beyond John O Groats, then did u-turn back to GLA, delayed on ground at GLA and has just left at 2012 and heading North again.

I'm presume you actually mean the BA287?

No on its way again.

I read this post this morning and somehow didn't take the connection in my mind. I'm now waiting in the SFO Terraces lounge with 6 hours to kill :p

Apparently an unlucky flight; there was another medical emergency upon landing at SFO causing further delays for deplaning and the outbound flight to London.
