Transfer BA miles to AA
Does anyone know how to transfer BA miles to AA program?
I noticed that BA OneWorld mileage redemption is HIGHER than the same flights if booked via AAdvantage. I thought the ONEWORLD mileage redemption guidelines had to be universal with all OneWorld carriers. Can anyone offer advice, guidance? Thanks so much |

I dont believe you can transfer what used to be called BA Miles, but which are now Avios points, to the AA programme. You can, however, use Avios points to book AA routes on AA metal. To do this, select the route you require on ba.com, and then click the red button labelled 'Include Partners' when the search engine returns no flights for your selected route. |
Why are the redemption charts different when booking OneWorld flights via BA?
I notice that a flight in First when booking via AA using miles MIA-DPS is 135,000k miles; however, if I choose to book via the Avios/BA website using points, 300k miles are needed. I thought the OneWorld redemption plan/chart was universal in its reward values.

1. You can't convert BA Avios points to AAdvantage miles. 2. If you can get MIA-DPS-MIA in F for 135K AAdvantage miles, that would be using two All-Partner one-way awards, not a single oneworld award, for which AA would charge 230K miles for up to 25,000 flown miles. 3. BA and AA charge the same for oneworld Coach awards; BA charges more for Business Class and First Class oneworld awards than AA does. |

Let me guess, if you'd ever flown BA, you'd never fly them again.

Well, I find it interesting that a return flight JFK-LHR in business is 5,000 dollars but only 3,200 pounds.
