The Royal Bank of Canada offers a British Airways VISA card. Not quite as generous a starter bonus but it does offer the companion voucher with a CAD 30,000 spend.

I take your point though about marketing localization.

Thanks for the tip. Yes i saw that but its the Avios that i am more interested in as i have a pretty decent CC that gives me 2% travel rewards (BMO World Elite) which are more flexible than Avios/2-4-1

Earning rates on this card are being 'enhanced' from April 30th 2015.

I received notification by post this morning that:

After this date $1 spent on BA will earn 3 Avios (was 2.5).

After this date $1 spent on everything else will earn 1 Avios (was 1.25).

Could someone please post the link to T&C?
I'm thinking of possibly getting the companion certificate and using it with award travel. What kind of itin restrictions would there be in such case -- e.g. would an open jaw be allowed, any limits on the length of trip or the # of segments?
TIA

Start with the first sticky at the top of this thread.....it will answer many of your questions.

In which country is your credit card issued? That makes a difference. Google the name of your bank, BA, companion voucher, and T&Cs (all spelled out), to find your T&Cs. The U.S. voucher is officially called a "Travel Together Ticket."

If you are U.K.-based, here are your T&C's:

This thread is specifically about the "Travel Together Ticket" issued by Chase to holders of its US-issued BA Visa card.

A couple of things to be aware of which are that travel must commence and end in the US and all flights in the booking must be BA operated flights. Don't forget to use the Chase 10% discount too.

Great, thanks. Yes I'm US-based and will start and end the trip here. Just thought I might have an open jaw between the forward and return segments. But looking at the terms, that should not be an issue.

From the Terms & Conditions for the 10 discount:

"Discount is not valid for flights on code share or franchise carriers. 10% discount on British Airways flights and OpenSkies flights are valid for flight purchase only and does not apply to excess baggage fees, seat assignment fees, purchasing Avios for rewards or rewards fees."

My sincere apologies for mentioning the U.K. version of the 2-4-1 voucher, which is often discussed in tandem with the U.S. voucher on this web page.

And if you scroll up to the top of this very page, you will see several posts discussing the RBC Canada version of this voucher. Shame on them for mentioning that!

Oh, the horror!

How is 10% discount relevant to 241?
