The BA Board Help Desk
Introduction
Welcome to the British Airways Executive Club forum or as it is more commonly known, the BA Board.
To our new members, you've probably got loads of very basic questions you'd like to have answered, and to our regulars who find themselves in need of a quick refresh, well, we've created this thread just for you. Treat it as your one stop quick fix whether it's about finding the best seat or any snippet of basic information about the Executive Club or any other topic that is preying your mind, there is a wealth of knowledge and experience in our community and members are happy to share and help out wherever they can.
It is always worth using the search this forum tool before posting - this allows you to find relevant threads previously posted on your topic. To get you started, we've begun compiling links to threads that cover some of the more frequently discussed topics in the directory below.
BA Executive Club: Our official BA liaison on FlyerTalk
We are very fortunate to have Nicci from BA on board. Her involvement is cherished here and the time and energy she puts in to assist individual members here is deeply appreciated. Nicci is happy to help with any specific questions individual members may have relating to their BAEC account. However, rather than posting personal questions on the open forum, instead we recommend you contact Nicci directly by personal message. Her handle is BA Executive Club. In order to assist Nicci, please include as much as the following information where possible:
your BAEC number
your name
any reference numbers you have, ie booking reference and/or customer relations case reference and/or ba,com incident numbers
any other relevant information
If you can provide this in your initial PM it may speed things along for you and result in a quicker response. Please note that all correspondence between FlyerTalk members and Nicci is treated as strictly confidential and BA does not note your information for future posting information.
Let the fun begin...
While this thread may be a new format to many, we hope it will help our new members and long time members less familar with BA and the Executive Club alike to ease themselves into the BA community so we ask of our established denizens of the board a bit of patience. Above all, this thread is intended for all to make use of. We don't know precisely where this journey will take us but hopefully it will improve the BA Board experience for all.
Since no one else has yet replied yet, I would like to thank the moderators for taking the initiative to start this thead.
Furthermore, welcome to FT Grand Union.
Newcomers to BA looking at this thread may be wondering whether or not they should give the airline a try. I would say YES as I always enjoy flying on BA.

Silly question and I should know the answer but the detail eludes me at the moment.
My current BAEC membership ends 08 January 2010 (card expires end of February 2010). If I booked tickets today for travel on 08 January would the TPs for those flights credit to my current year or the next membership year? In other words, will my 2009 membership year end at 00:00 on 08 January or 23:59?
Earning Tier Points on the last day of your membership year
Not a silly question at all - I get asked this privately quite a lot - it's good that people are prepared to ask in public for the purposes of knowledge sharing and I love the new Help Desk!
If you earn Tier Points on the last day of your current membership year, they will not count towards your next membership year but will reset with your total balance. The reason being is that a lot of members rely on us counting their tier points right up to the last minute for tier renewals and upgrades.
There's currently a lot of excitement over in the MilesBuzz! forum about the new Chase/BA Visa 100,000-mile bonus offer. Perhaps Nicci or one of the regulars in this forum can answer a couple of questions that have come up over there about Executive Club awards. Here goes:
1. For award travel on American Airlines, the BAEC award chart indicates that a domestic U.S. coach award is 25,000 miles, with business class being 50,000 miles, and first class being 75,000 miles. Some AA flights offer three classes of service: First, Business, and Coach, but most domestic AA flights offer only two classes of service, which AA denominates as "First Class" and "Coach," rather than as "Business Class" and "Coach." Is first class on a two-class AA aircraft treated as a domestic business class award (50,000 miles) or as a domestic first-class award (75,000 miles) for BAEC redemption purposes?
2. How many stopovers are permitted for an award itinerary that is flown solely on a single partner carrier? Is it unlimited? One in each direction? Something else?
Thanks very much for any light you can shed on these questions.

I'm really sorry for not replying to this sooner. I've had problems accessing FT - I'm not sure if anyone else has had the same issues? I am currently getting through all of your PMs so apologies for the delay with these.
guv1976 - domestic US first-class award is definetly charged at 75,000 miles.
There is no limit to the number of stopovers per se, but you stopovers must be at connecting points on the most direct routes between the origin and destination.
I hope this answers your questions but let me know if not and I'll be happy to clarify.

For some reason I just stumbled across this sticky thread.
I'm not 100% sure if there is really a need for this sticky, considering most info is (or should be) in the Ultimate Guide and questions are answered/debated within the forum anyway.
Also, are we any closer to updating the woefully outdated Ultimate Guide? I would be happy to assist with writing sections on lounges/product information/a guide to LHR.

Part 1 is on short finals (not helped by BA constantly changing things in the EC).
You might regret volunteering for the experience stuff - I'll be in touch.
