Cross-post from mileage run - AC/BD YUL-LHR-DME RT $367

It's on mileage run forum but maybe interesting for people here, YUL-DME return, with possible stopover in LHR for under $400. And can use those GUV's to DME!

9600 status miles for roughly £200 which is better than the LX deals at the moment, although one would need to get to YUL, not to mention the visa costs required to enter DME.....

The hassle factor probably makes LX, MS and other long haul offers from SK, TG and SQ probably better value and most of those are ex-LHR.

It's also available from YYZ, if that helps anyone on here.

Traveloguy - I linked to a post from a recent UA MR to DME thread that seemed pretty clear that you don't need a visa if you're doing an immediate turnaround. I'm still trying to work out why some ITA queries are returning just an 11UKP tax element for >24 hours at LHR (see my post on that thread - any help welcomed!)

You don't need a visa if you're in transit - i.e., continuing to a third country and not leaving the transit area at DME. This has nothing to do with immediate turnarounds. When UA just started flying here, people were admitted on board and had no problems, but a couple of weeks later everyone without a valid Russian visa were just flat out denied boarding.

apoivre is correct, a visa is required by BD on LHR-DME regardless of your intentions.
