It appears my iTunes is connected to the US store, as the prices are in $. Can I switch it to the UK store, or I can get the miles even when shopping in US$?
Mine was as well till I put in my credit card details then it reverts to the UK site.
Simply buy 2 x £1 items - when you click on 'Buy Now' you are asked how many you want to buy - put in 2.
The PayPal charity pot currently stands at £144 - very well done to everyone.
Please post when £2 transactions start tracking - in particular, whether or not they are showing 1 mile earned. If they aren't, I will launch Plan C in a couple of days!
Sorry guys, did not follow the thread anymore. What is "plan C" and what is "ebay purchase"? Thanks for an update.
Im trying to load ebay website from the flybmi.com website, but its only loading up "page cant be found" errors. Ive tried two laptops, and 2 browsers so anyone got any last minute ideas before i purchase an item at 1020 tonight without my precious 20 odd dcmiles??!! ( and kickstarting my special offer/NSPCC run!)
Seems to work on the third computer ive tried. Kinda worried how its actually tracking my miles as it just seems to link through to www.ebay.co.uk as the URL...
Now just got the excitement of making the winning bid about 12 seconds before it ends!

Are people actually getting miles posted for iTunes purchases?
When I go through the link on the website (BMI) it opens up my iTunes on my PC, and then I need to enter the store.
Once it does, I simply cannot see where it actually shows that I have entered through the BMI shopping site...?

Am I making sense?
thats the way to do it. as long as you clicked on the link from the bmi store to open itunes means the tracking cookie should be in place.

Yes, for me, it does behave like that, and I got my first 3 transactions posted, including for a transaction worth less than a pound:
19/05/2008 Apple iTunes GB £1.58 3 miles/£1 Pending 4
18/05/2008 Apple iTunes GB £0.79 3 miles/£1 Pending 3

Has anyone had any luck receiving credit (actual or pending) for a music download purchased using a US based credit card with a US billing address? I've had no luck with iTunes (will only let me buy from the US store), HMV (gives an error message on the final purchase submit), or Tesco Digital (says that it only works with UK based credit cards).

For me is the eBay thing somewhat gloomy. When I click to eBay through the bmi site, there is no cookie tracking record... It seems. I wonder if one really gets the points.
Tesco Digital (says that it only works with UK based credit cards).
Tesco works with some non-UK cards. Was refused with all my Mastercards but worked with my Visa card.
Bought on eBay for 0.01 £
Looking forward to my two purchases posted soon
PS: The T&Cs don't mention anything about a minumum purchase. They only mention 500 bonus point per PURCHASE! Understand guys, there is no need to buy 2 £ or the-like!

But you forget the obvious point - if your purchase isn't large enough to earn you 1 mile, nothing will be sent to BMI and therefore BMI won't know you've earnt a bonus!
Go into this listing VIA THE BMI SHOPPING PORTAL and purchase 1 item. Do NOT use PayPal. Select 'cheque or postal order' as payment method - this means that no money will actually change hands.
Later, I will e-mail you the PayPal address for our NSPCC charity fund. This is not the same e-mail address as the one e-bay uses. For each link you purchase, you should send £1.50 by Paypal to this address. I expect payments to be made within 48 hours.
You can purchase as many items as you like, as long as you later send £1.50 to the Paypal pot. Go through the BMI link separately for each one. To save my time, if you make multiple purchases you will only receive one confirmatory email from me so save the Paypal details.
We are obviously reliant on the trust of fellow FT'ers for this to work. When you buy a link at £6.50, our charity pot incurs ebay listing and final sale fees. If you do not pay your £1.50, not only are you not making a donation but you actually taking money away from the pot. The current total, by the way, stands at £158 although I have not yet deducted any ebay fees from this.
Rather disturbingly, one FT'er with a Polish address has ripped off this idea and is selling a similar link for £2, with the cunning twist that all the money goes into his pocket. I won't post that link for obvious reasons.
OK, here is Plan C which we know will track (if of course it tracks at all)
I've made 2 consecutive transactions for "plan C" on the 21/05/08 but for some reason, only one tracked. I did close the ebay window and restart from the BMI shopping site for the second transaction (both have a "click ID"). strange....
