The problem for the OP is that if the miles are credited to DC ahead of the upgrade being confirmed, they will almost immediately be lost as status miles because presumably the counter will reset to zero on upgrade and a new membership year will start.
Assuming this is a two-sector flight on Swiss, 6400 status miles is a pretty high percentage of the following year's 38k requirement to throw away - and, even though destination miles will be retained, there won't be any bonus miles on top.

NWIFlyer understands what I mean. I could leave out the FF no but I was hoping to use the SEN lounges while on the trip and the extra 20kg would be useful.
It could just be that Joanna is out of the office; its impossible to know how long these things generally take!
It is a stupid question, I know, just wanted to make sure I understand T&C correct, especially given there's no mention of status match anythere (or I am too stupid to find it). I have matched to BD Gold a week ago and now realize I will have 38K miles by the end of November (all of them for the flights made b/w Oct. 21 and November 30 - thanks to that double miles promo). Would that requalify me for 2010/2011 or would DC count that as a qualification for my current G status and will zero my account once I reach 38K and start a new year for me on November 30?
Once you have Gold, your status year runs for 12 months from that date. In your case you are well on your way to the 55k threashold when you will effectively earn double destination miles.

How sure can we be that this will work? Is the DC software really so useless that it won't recognise that the flight was taken before the OP reached Gold status and backdate bonus and status miles accordingly to flight date, thus having the same effect as putting the number in at time of flying?
(I post this recognising that, as with all BMI IT issues, this might be regarded as a very stupid question!)

If the OP's status is Gold with zero miles, whether the flight was taken before the change in status should be an irrelevance. The miles are added manually. I really doubt that a member of the DC team would care to add them and then remove them as being earned prior to the status match - they have enough problems to deal with with all the retro claims due to non-posting miles anyway.

Hi,
I'm an EXP with AA, I've flown via LHR plenty of times, mostly on BA and wanted to try something new... attached was a scanned copy of my EXP card
... no problems at all...
I got my welcome package today... One lovely * gold card n two really nice luggage tags...
Just been advised by bmi that currently many Gold welcome packs have been sent out without the upgrade vouchers, these will (hopefully...) be sent seperately within "4-6 weeks".
