Paper ticket says "Baggage: PC"? What is this?

Hello folks,

I am doing ORD-MAN in January... I'm a *G (US CP) w/ a paper ticket here that says "Baggage" and listed under it says "PC".

Can anyone enlighten me to what this means? Personal carry on (only??), etc?

Cheers,

Mike

It probably means "pieces." Often you'll see international baggage allowances of 2PC, meaning "2 pieces." Sounds like the # was missing.

It means 1 piece of up to 32kgs.

What would cause this? That doesn't sound to enticing for spending 9 days in the winter in the UK :-)

This is from the bmi website - http://www.flybmi.com/bmi/en-gb/trav...ageadvice.aspx

As a *G it looksas though you can have 3 pieces up to a maximum weight of 64kg.

Regardless of whether it says PC or 2PC, either of those two means the ticket is issued under the "Piece System" as used for all journeys to/from the North America region.

2x 32kg bags, each measuring no more than 158cm in L+H+W combined.

As Star Gold, you are permitted 1 further piece, so 3 total.

though admittedly, it's not 1 piece of 20kg, it's unlimited number of pieces but total weight 20kg. And there's no limit on physical size, so if you're carrying something large in volume but lightweight, it works to your advantage.

PC = Piece Concept, which means your luggage allowance is measured in number of pieces of luggage. This is opposed to weight concept, where your luggage is measured by its weight, (theoretically) irrespective of the number of pieces.

Otherwise, see Gaza's post above
