The issue is you can't cancel after 31 Dec. There should be no issue with cancelling now.

My bad - misunderstood issue. Not surprising given absence of clear info - though given agent confirmed I would receive miles back it seems clear the DC.org FAQ is inaccurate (it says no changes or refunds for travel post 31 Dec). I took the precaution of recording the end of the call where I reconfirmed my miles would be refunded

Process for refunds is a bit tortuous - ring up, give details, be given address, go to that and fill in etc. Then maybe wait 8 weeks

I'm retracting this confirmation since I have received a further message from DiamondClubQueries that would indicate the situation is being looked at seriously. Hopefully there will be an updated position on the website in due course (which reverts to the original refund position for UK members at least). Hopefully the flurry of concern here has prompted BA to consider the situation carefully.

NO DC award bookings can be cancelled after 31 Dec 2012. No cash or miles refunds after 31 Dec 2012 for anyone.

This is a bit annoying as I specifically booked mine knowing I might need to cancel it - but will now need to cancel anyway as I wont be sure by 31 Dec.

edit: I presume tickets fall into the non-refunable category after 31 Dec - but in theory that should still mean government taxes are refunded.

Anyone else having problems logging in? I've tried for the first time and it says 'server error'

Thanks

Whoops...it's been a long week.. used the wrong email address! Ignore me! I can't see anywhere where it says the tier level though?

I just submitted my BA status match (yesterday was my membership year anniversary), hope this doesn't cause any issues

Eagle-eyed viewers may have noticed that the wording on the website login page has changed from "User Name" to "Email address".

So logging in by your DC number is definitely off the menu now.

We're not dead yet

Encouraged by this :

I recently put some spend through ba.com on my bmi mbna card. Today's statement is missing any double miles.

Who do I contact to get what's been promised ? BA, MBNA or the ASA ?

As BA seem to be exceptionally quiet at the moment on here, I would try MBNA first as their customer service is pretty responsive.

I'm in a similar boat, although I won't be able to confirm my position until early in the new week.

Can't register on the new site

Just got a new DiamondClub account opened having got one of the last MBNA credit cards.

Now, I have a DC membership number, but on the new site, there is no link to associate this with my email address to login and view/transfer my points.

More frustratingly, the "contact us" form only works if you have a registered email address in their database, and as there is nowhere to register my email address, I can't even contact them via the site!

Any suggestions (other than picking up the phone, which looks like it'll be my only option)

Regards

Neil

Sounds like you didn't give MBNA a DC number, so they will have created one for you. Call them to get the number, and they probably set it up with the same email address so you may not need the number as login is now via email address.

I didnt give MBNA a membership number as I didn't have one before opening the card.

Trying the email address MBNA have, it doesn't work as my login

Well, my November mbna points posted on time to my diamond club.org account, so this bit seems to be working OK.

As to the double points on ba.com, the mbna agent I spoke to, who seemed pretty clued up on the bmi card, said that they'd not been notified of this, so he's forwarded the question to the specialist team, a callback is promised.

I think I was in the same position as you, and got the same MBNA card 24,000 miles after 250 spend?
I just called Diamond Club on the number MBNA gave me, 0844 something. They are open 08:00-18:00 and they just ask for your name, address, postcode & email address. They then tell you your DC membership number and email your password. Whole thing took me less than 5 minutes inc the email bit.

Looks like the big BA transaction I made hit the account the day the statement was generated, so I don't have a data point to compare. I might put in a call to MBNA myself as I am keen to pretty much ditch the BA card for the moment and concentrate on BD/MBNA if this bonus is real.
