bmi DC members above the basic blue level, status matched+ with ELAL

ELAL now offer status match for bmi elite members.
Blue+ members will recieve Gold status.

(my son is now Gold at ELAL)
Silver and Gold members will recieve Platinum status.

(I am now Platinum at ELAL, instead of Gold)

You get the status for six month, and:

if you gain 800 points on those 6 months you will recieve Gold status for a whole year
if you gain 2000 points on those six months you will recieve Platinum status for a whole year

Just send you membership details and statement, which includes record of two flight to or from TLV (from the last year) with bmi or any *A partner to yaely [at] elal [dot] co [dot] il or to fax number +97237604043

Valid until 10 Feb.

That's just the strange thing about this status match; the fact that LY actually believe Blue+ was an "elite" status when in fact It was a "nothing" status invented purely for the benefit of offering more customers a free toasty and a drink on short Haul flights, and it doesn’t even exists anymore...

Why on earth they would give match Blue+ to Gold is beyond me, but hey lucky some

Probably working on the basis that anyone who has travelled more than twice on the BD route will be pretty much be a Silver or Gold member anyway. I doubt they will have a large liability on this one.

Meaning that elal will not only match, but give you one higher status then your BMI DC one.

I only found this page in hebrew...

(they also want you to send two flights made this year)

Information about this promo (short):

For new elal matmid-club registration is free (usually there is a fee).

BMI DC Blue Plus will become Elal Gold.

BMI DC Silver or Gold will become an Elal Platinum.

Duration of Promo: Begin 25 Jan 2010, End 10 Feb 2010

General Info: Elal, especially it's Platinum card is very generous in earning points for flying.
