Not able to waitlist for J. Really?

I just tried to book a LHR-CAI return in business. Outbound was fine but business currently full for return. Asked if I could book premium economy for return and be waitlisted for business but call centre says Bmi doesn't do waitlisting.

Really?

Thanks in advance for any words of wisdom.

Depending on when your flying, does BD *G not guarantee you a seat in business on bmi after 3 (i think) days? never heard of anyone trying to use this benefit...

Is this for a mileage redemption or a published fare?

According to :

http://www.flybmi.com/bmi/en-gb/diam...-benefits.aspx

Quote:
Guaranteed seat reservation**
With 48 hours notice, on selected fares

** bmi operating flights only, for Business fares on a two cabin route and Premium Economy fares on a single cabin route, excluding longhaul and Leeds Bradford to Glasgow and Edinburgh routes and bmibaby flights
Is CAI considered Long Haul, or mid-haul?

Also, for Premium Economy, read Flexible Economy.... another web pages that's a touch out of date.

CAI was considered mid-haul according to BMI

however, it now looks like AMMAN is mid-haul but CAIRO is now classed as long-haul (how odd?)

Guaranteed seat doesn't necessarily mean guaranteed seating in Business Class, even if you're paying a Business Class fare. My guess is if you utilize the guarantee, there will be a disclaimer on where in the cabin you are seated. This happened to me with SK on a flight to CHI a few yrs back - they did provide me with the guaranteed seat (same rule in the SK program), but i actually flew in the Y cabin on a JOW type fare.
