Here are the 2 that were recommended to me:
Orlando Convention and visitors code - K199060
Florida Visitor Bureau - J868801

Looking through the thread (search this thread option is WONDERFUL, btw ) there were posts that stated that they (both of them) were available to the general public. When I checked the rates I got $131 for both codes (weekly). Since I am not booking for Orlando, or dropping off in Orlando, I opted for the second code (not sure if the first would work - but better safe than sorry). In a little less than 2 weeks I will find out how it goes. I will post back when I find out.
Just wanted to provide an update. I just used J868801 (in FLL) with a new Preferred account for a 7 day rental. Everything went perfect. Did some searching online and found the code on multiple wedding invitation websites - seems to be public information.

I used J868801 for an FLL search, 8 days starting 8/1. It gave me $3 more (total, not daily) than D005297. I'm just sayin' ......

Did you have success?

The 2nd and 3rd codes had unlimited usage. These quotes are in CAD without taxes and fees. Any help with other codes or a coupon for the farmers code to get unlimited usage would be apprieciated. Will be applying the MUAA133 for my skymiles bump.

Thanks.
Can you confirm the successful use of any of these codes? I have a rental booked for next week using A972200 and the end of Aug again using D005297. Hoping not to get burned and charged the full rate. Thanks!

Could you please be more specific? Airport or local location, were you asked for ID? I really need to know this, as it might be worth driving down to an airport location because I need the underage fee waived.
Thanks.

Avis just gave me a great rate on a weekly mini-van rental in hawaii - 7 days, $263. Rate found through hawaiicarrentals.net . It fills in AWD H020580.

Friday night stay required?

I'm looking at a one-way rental - SFO pickup with an Oakland (downtown) dropoff. Using D005297 or K199060 gives the best rate, but oddly, both of them show "Friday night stay is required. Maximum 4 days 12 hrs. Checkout before 3 PM Sunday." My pickup date is 2-ish on a Sunday, with a Monday 5-ish dropoff, so no Friday night involved. I've never used the D005297, and when I did use the K199060 (in FL), it was for over a week so I don't know what the rules were.

Can someone enlighten me on this restriction? Is there always a Friday night requirement with these 2 codes? Anyone with experience on this?

Thx

Ususally if a code has a day/time restriction the system will not allow you to book using the code unless you meet the conditions of the restriction.

Were you able to book your date with this code?

Idranet, U will be fine. Based on your pickup & return, Avis is giving U a Weekend Rate. What they really mean is if one picks it up on Thu. or Fri., one must keep it at least over Fri. night.

Yes, I was able to complete the reservation with both of the discount codes, and both of them showed the restriction on the confirmation page.

Duh! I guess I live under a rock, but it really wasn't clear to me. Thanks for the logical explanation.

Rental car help - Calgary in August

Anyone have any good codes for rental in Canada?

We are renting in Calgary (YYC) from Aug 16-25
and the best I found was $457 with all taxes from Budget
with Costco codes. Tried lots of these other ones but no luck.

Any leads appreciated.

I used this code (D972200) at YHZ yesterday. Not even a single word about the discount code or rental price by the agent. She was very helpful and friendly...good old Maritime hospitality!!

K444404 gave great rates for rental in Munich, however, I had bad luck at the rental counter when I was helped by the manager, when he asked for my AVIS Chairman's Preferred Card (which I don't have). Had it been any other of the agents I think I would have been ok in getting the rental - good thing I had a backup rental at Budget!
