AVIS MSP - Can't reach anyone!!!
 
This has to be one of the most frustrating things - trying to reach the AVIS in Minneapolis about a reservation and each time I get the dreaded 'The location you're trying to reach is busy helping other customers'. It's one thing to have this happen once, but this has been non-stop since saturday. I enter the option for rates and reservations, for customer service, even for emergency breakdown - same crap. The worst part is I called the national number and since this is a change to my reservation, they tell me I have to contact that MSP location :mad:

Seems some lazy employee set all calls to default to voice mail. How the &%#* can you contact a location if there was an actual emergency.

When i started renting from this location, the service was okay then it dwindled. I remember a month ago when some guy got so pissed of at the service he went to hertz - right next to avis - and after he got his car, gave the avis manager a piece of his mind.

You should have asked the rep on the 800# to ring MSP for you. Maybe they would have answered if they thought it was one of the big boys.

I had a similar experience with Budget a couple months ago at TLH. They're off the property and the house phone alternated between busy and unanswered. I finally asked an Avis rep and he told me they closed at 9:00. My TA had reserved a car at an agency that closed before my arrival!

I know it's a late response, but here's an update.
I called the CS desk again and explained the problem. At first she was flippant and insisted I call MSP again. I requested she either listen to me or get her manager. Finally, she attempted to call the location and after a few tries, realized I was not making things up. It took at least 10 minutes before she was able to reach someone at MSP and with Avis MSP on the phone, they were able to resolve the issues with my reservation.
