DFW is Awesome

I normally don't get an upgrade anywhere but DFW has been giving me upgrades and new cars with 6 miles on them!

Not what I would have picked, but it seems nice enough so far. More to the point, I got in at 2am after a flight delay, and had no desire to screw around with Select&Go or anything else.

I know, it's not an upgrade, but I was tired of driving through Chicago-land in full-size SUVs.

Flipping GM needs to put a back-up camera on their high trim Malibu. As a side note, a coworker received a Chevy Cruze RS with pretty much every option possible, including sunroof. Didn't know Avis stocked that trim level.

Not trying to be a smartass, but pretty sure you mean Toyota 4Runner

Nice truck...wish I would've had it when I was in BOS back in February. Mediocre engine in the base trim though...I had it screaming to keep up in the Mass Pike traffic flow.

Avis Pres Club

So far every single one of my rentals since getting Presidential status has been upgraded from Full Size to a BMW 528i. I am 4 for 4.

Booked: Full Size
Car Assigned : White Leather Ford Fusion TDCI? (didn't check if it was diesel or that was just the model)
Car Selected: Ford Explorer Limited with 8 on the clock.

I'm just preferred, but in 10 rentals, they've never declined giving me the car I want. Never even been charged an additional. Just being nice works.

1k miles, working XM radio. I was happy. However, I still hate the Cue navigation system in that car.

Never heard of the TDCI but in the US, Avis advertises a fleet of only automatic cars with gasoline, no diesel.

Looked it up on google and found very limited info from the UK about a Turbo Diesel Focus. I just went over the email they sent me and it says WHITE FORD FUSION TDCI.

I only had it for a night before I returned it (no EZ Pass and needed it), but it had a badge on the back that said TDCI. It didn't sound like a diesel though (I have a diesel car at home) but definitely turbo. However for the one night that I had it, it showed 42MPG with mainly road driving (only took the freeway to the hotel) with about 35 miles of driving.

I was offered several Altimas and a Camry. Thanks to the posts here I asked and they all turned out to be high mileage 2014 models. The Elantra vibrates like hell when driving more than 30mph and flat out this is the worst Avis rental car in the last two years. Next time I'll pick the car up at the airport.
