As of 2/12/14: We've had quite a few "Hey, come use this AWD. It's great" type of posts. When the AWD doesn't give a good discount, but is only posted to try to get renters to use the AWD of someone so the poster can earn free days from their Avis Corporate account. From here out, please put the company/trade group/etc that's associated with the AWD or we'll delete the post to keep it on-topic here.

I tried this code in Sept 2012 for a rental in New Zealand in Nov 2012. The baseline rate I got for a 3 day hire without an AWD was $230, LDW included. With this AWD it was $228 + $5 per day for the LDW.

Florida State Code
When returning a car to an off-airport location recently, the agent provided me with the Florida State code to use for future rentals. I previously worked for an employer eligible to use that code and used it often on work-related travel. However, I am no longer employed (retired) and advised the agent of that. He said, no problem, you can still use it. My first thought was that once I am no longer an employee, the state contract rate should not be used. But I am all for saving money, but will not do so improperly. I will be needing a rental car in Colorado for personal use in January, and using the state rate saves about $150 a week over the rate I can get otherwise.
Any thoughts, or suggestions for other codes?

Our rental was for a 10 day period and as I recall this may be one of the codes that has a 5-day minimum to produce good results ~ then again it's usefulness may have expired ~ may still be worth checking for slightly longer rentals.
As always, YMMV.

Has it been used successfully without identification?

Hi folks,
I'm looking to rent one way from Orlando (MCO) to New Orleans (MSY) for about 10 days. All of the codes I've tried either have a huge ($300) drop fee or don't have unlimited mileage. Does anyone know of a code that might include unlimited miles and doesn't have a drop fee? I know it might not exist, but I figured if you don't ask.......
thanks in advance.
