As of 2/12/14: We've had quite a few "Hey, come use this AWD. It's great" type of posts. When the AWD doesn't give a good discount, but is only posted to try to get renters to use the AWD of someone so the poster can earn free days from their Avis Corporate account. From here out, please put the company/trade group/etc that's associated with the AWD or we'll delete the post to keep it on-topic here.

i did get this code from an american friend, it is from a travel club he is member with.
code is Z251177 no i.d.
it is good discount so far and i did save 20% in washington when my other codes did not work. some other codes were the same but this is with lower risk in my opinion. we are all travelers!

I usually rent hertz, they usually have the best prices for me, but for an upcoming trip Avis was a third the cost of hertz (really!) and I came over looking for discount codes.
I didn't know Amex offered the Premium Rental insurance, what a great find to see that. Having something reasonably priced for primary insurance is great. Thanks.

I believe you are mistaken on your interpretation. If you read clearly your quote above, it say's coverage is in "excess" to your other sources of insurance". That's the standard credit card insurance. They will only assume any of the leftover liability after you've filed with your own insurance company(s).I'm not interested in filing with my own insurance company first, and than the credit card. The plan I enrolled in with Amex provides PRIMARY coverage. My own auto insurer is never even notified. I'm paying the $19.95 for PRIMARY coverage.

My pleasure. Even though the code I use most often (G417900) has LDW included, I still buy the extra primary coverage from Amex on every rental. In my opinion, it's just too good a deal to pass up.

New here, so I apologize if this is old info. Re: the Amex primary rental car coverage....Sign up for it with Amex, reserve the car from Avis with the Amex card. Rent the car. Upon return, if you haven't had an accident, use a different Credit Card to pay. You save the $19.95 fee! Yes??? Comments?
