First time in a while I haven't been offered an upgrade at FRA, but the garage looked sparse.
The C180 is ok. Mediocre acceleration and their new "touch" interface is way too large for the center stack. It's like a second gear-shift. The blind-spot fussiness compounds my ambivalence. Twice on my drive today, it beeped loudly when I changed lanes even though I had plenty of clearance to the car behind me.

I booked a one day rental and just figured I'll get whatever and drive it around. Surprised I got a Charger R/T and was the car with the lowest milage.... Got offered 2 camerys with at least 34,000 miles and 2 chargers with at least 35,000 miles.... Not my favorite cars since the seats aren't great but it's a fun car. Definitely better then most "full size" cars that rental fleets have since it's an actual full size car unlike the others which are mid size really.

Pretty good upgrade, if you ask me. Nice SUV with lots of options (rear view camera, sat nav, proximity sensors all around, etc.), and pretty fuel efficient as well.

Main gripes I had:
->completely underpowered in Eco mode, overtaking on the highway made me feel I was driving an old Corsa.
->Lots of options indeed, but the sound quality could be better
->fuel efficient only in Eco mode, gas guzzler on the French highways
->trickier to park with bigger "dead angles"
All in all, I'd much prefer the Kuga, Tiguan or XC60(at the time it was in the same category)

"No upgrades as it's Easter week", the 508 was nice though I felt gutted when I saw an XC60 (one class up) parked next to it.

Booked full size, received intermediate SUV. 2017 with 16k miles. Avis app would not let me change the vehicle assigned, gave an error with an 800 number to call. Had to circle back to the counter because the vehicle was missing the GPS I had requested. Also wanted to swap the car for something less soccer mom-ish. Was told the only other option was a mini van. Tuesday afternoon might have had something to do with it.
GPS maps are horribly out of date, gives wrong exit numbers and is generally useless.

B. When you go back, have them refund the GPS for the issues you mentioned.

Booked:Full Size SUV
Assigned:2017 GMC Yukon XL SLT Trim
Received:Same
Less than 1000 miles on it. Appeared to be identical to the Denali trim Yukon my coworker recieved. Also one of the first GM SUV's i've seen that has a sun roof in it in the Avis Fleet

Surprisingly nice car. I wish it were an upgraded trim, though. The higher trims have an insane amount of tech bundled in.

Booked: full size
Received: cute little 2 door mustang
I was surprised by this - I've definitely gotten the occasional SUV upgrade, but this was my first downsize upgrade (from 4 door to 2). Definitely not the best car for ferrying around coworkers on this trip, but I've enjoyed driving it!!

Very nice upgrade, and the car was also brand new with only 100km driven.
