In my experience the only thing you need is the coupon code. I use a company AWD and have never missed the bonus miles when I use the coupon code

No, you don't have to use that AWD, but you do have to use an AWD which allows earning of hotel points.

Not all corporate AWDs allow earning of miles/points.

It's totally safe to use another airline's or hotel's AWD. Beyond that, you need to make sure that other people (or yourself) have had success earning miles or points with that particular AWD. (Don't just use a random AWD you found on a website not concerned with points/miles -- but only with saving money -- without checking into it here first.)

Another Club Carlson AWD#: MUHA018, which gives 7500 points but is valid for both airport & non-airport pickups!

Anyone has experiences from this working or not working properly? I participated this, doing a reservation through the link via AVIS web. First weird thing was that my reservation stated 8250points and not 9000points?? Second, when checking-in the car keys, there was nothing printed on the receipt and I asked if the codes are there. "Yes they are, all right"

Nothing has posted on my CC account though...

Nothing has posted on my CC account though...
I only had 7500 points deposit, then I asked the CHM desk to take care of it. Correct amount of points were deposited a few months later...

BTW, had real trouble getting points to post.

It's gone round in circles with Avis for months! But perseverance is key!

I asked ClubCarlson and they told it can take up to 30days for the points to post. Now after 25days I got the 9000 points posted - 750 for the rental and 8250 for the promo. Happy about that, especially since I have recently experienced some poor service from Avis so that makes it up a bit.

Interesting occurrence for me today. Used Club Carlson MUHA021 as I have a handful of time before with no issues. At drop off, my printed receipt showed 9000 miles earned. Later, I got my e-receipt and it shows the coupon code but no partner pints earned where it normally shows on the e-receipt.

Hope I don't have to chase this down. We shall see.

I never got such info on my receipt, but the points posted on my 1st rental. I am waiting for my 2nd rental to post, it can take 4weeks reportedly.

All points came despite not being on the e-receipt. Looks like they do them in batches. A rental from 2 weeks ago and 3 weeks ago both posted this morning.

Love this promotion. Essentially pays for the car rental in my situation.
