2012 Infiniti M37X Ride Report/Review

Ride Report for my Avis Infiniti M37X from several weeks ago:

http://carrentingreviews.com/2012/05...infiniti-m37x/

One advantage of Avis' luxury cars is that they seem to be in comparatively better condition than Hertz or National cars. Hertz cars always smell like smoke. Even National cars are a little beatup.

I had a 2012 G37X last time with some 10,000 miles on it, but not a single scratch on the outside, and the interior leather still looked brand new.^

PROS:

- Rich cabin materials, luxurious interior
- Voluptuous exterior shape

CONS:

- Soft brake pedal, light steering, not as fun to drive as the G37
- Difficult to reach driver’s side seat controls

CONCLUSION: The M37X is a more luxurious G37 with a superb and well-crafted interior, but slightly less fun to drive.

First: I love your blog and write-ups. Very helpful.

Curious what made you feel that the G was more fun to drive than the M? I found the M more fun to drive when I had it, admittedly on different roads. Especially with the selection of sport, eco, etc, where the G didn't have that.

Thanks jvick!

The M's brake pedal felt a little weak, probably because of pedal travel. Also, steering too light. I didn't think Sport mode changed either of those qualities.

The M's interior is so superbly gorgeous that I would gladly take an M over a G anyday however.

I got one as an upgrade at CVG 2 months ago. Silver color, around 10k miles. It was a blast to drive.

I find the brakes very sensitive and the steering very light on the G37X as well. I guess maybe it has the same set up.

Agree with the light steering and the front end seemed high and long, limiting front visibility, otherwise a lot of fun to drive.

The last one I received also had a flaky navigation system which managed to set itself to French one morning...was actually kind of fun trying to navigate through the French menus to find how to change the language back to English.
