I was curious myself, so here is some of what I found with Google:

Here is a picture of a painted AV 787:

Other posts on the internet indicate that they will receive their first 4 (of 15) in December. As noted in the article, there will probably be some familiarization flights in the Americas and then they will go on European routes.

I hope they use them on some positioning trial flights within the country!

I'm gonna ride the AV 330 for the first time on MDE-BOG in Jan haha. I would love to try more of AV's product but not being based in SA it's tough.

Here is a short news article (in English) posted on December 25. Not much to add, but does confirm plans to use on European flights from BOG, MDE and CTG. Also some deep South America flights.

I swear I've seen one at BOG recently just sitting there getting ready I suppose, but I'll admit, my vision at that range isn't perfect and I'm no plane spotter lol.

Either way, I hope to be able to try the service at some point soon. Trying the A330 service MDE-BOG for 20 mins this weekend, for the first time.

Why will they send the 787 to GRU, EZE, MEX before LHR & MAD?

Y en espanol!

It looks great, having just been on the A330 I thought that J class looked very good as well, at least in comparison with most US based airlines.

I wouldn't wanna sit in the middle seats on the 787, but then I travel solo and having a seatmate recently on United with little privacy wasn't actually as bad as I thought it'd be.

I would love to fly this but odds are slim, YVR-LHR is expensive enough as it is, so YVR-BOG-LHR would be way pricier and from what I've see Avianca is already kinda pricey internationally. Maybe I can snag an award ticket at some point .

Espero que todos disfrutan de este nuevo aeronave!

I guess for crew familiarity, I think MEX might be a Fox Latino red herring, next up is SCL before GRU and EZE.

Johnny, I actually found award availability (albeit a few months off) for MEX-BOG.

Now the time I've flown BOG-MEX was on A319-320 I forget but I happened to be looking at award flights via the aeroplan page, and naturally the equipment can change at the drop of a hat, but Fri Jun 12 MEX-BOG Business availability on AV 73 dep 15:01 788.

I'm so tempted to book this!

Any reports about the front cabin of the 787? Particularly Row 1 versus Row 6...

We flying AV 88 in a few weeks (EZE-BOG), and our row 2 seats were reassigned to 1D/1E when they changed aircraft. I'm alway service about row 1 due to proximity to the galley and washrooms, as well as IFE screens being farther away than usual, but Avian hasn't loaded their seat map yet. I called and row 6 (or 7 total rows) is available and I'm torn as to whether to switch. I think the seats look similar to the Air Canada configuration (with two less rows) and I also wonder what row has no window (row 5 on Air Canada).

Thanks for any feedback!
