Thanks for your responses. Got it......when you put in for the never available US-NZ flights, it just gives you the standard error message....thanks again.

Maybe I am doing this all wrong. After I discovered the miles + cash with LM I gave up on flying for elite status because I can just book my own F tix with 40% + cash.. essentially a deep discounted F tix. So I've been hoarding miles to make sure I have bountiful amounts of those 40% miles.
If someone doesn't even have 40% of the miles, can he attempt to book an award and just buy the miles at the end of the transaction? At 1.3 cpm this seems like a cheaper option. Like just have 2000 miles in the account, attempt to book an award where I need 42,000 miles, buy 40,000 for 1.3 cpm, and pay cash for the rest.
Before buying miles today I had 60,799 that cost 0.48 cpm to earn and adding 66K brought the totals to 126,799 at 1.01 cpm.

1.3 cpm? So buying 33K miles today for $990 for a total of 66K at 1.5 cpm was not the best plan?

I always like to keep between 100K-200K in my LifeMiles account just to be ready in case I need to use them quickly. I "topped up" my account yesterday by adding another 100K.

I always go for the maximized money+miles option with lifemiles as the cost to acquire the miles is cheaper that way than even with this promo. That said, I do buy miles with these promotions because I do a lot of one-way mileage ticket redemptions for travel.

Last week, I bought 2 DEN-YUL J class tickets on AC. Each OW ticket cost me 10,000 miles and $219 (for 15,000 miles, taxes and fees).
Compared to AC's $650 OW Y fare and their $2,200 OW J fare. Yeah, I'm sure they sell a lot of those.

Lifemiles is my way to limit the maximum payable amount for just about any North American trip of mine where I have a few hours flexibility and reimbursement isn't a concern. Paying $500+ for roundtrip economy class ticket for US/Canada travel is easily avoided by way of this. For the cost of some regular paid economy class tickets, lifemiles delivers me in business class even at lower prices than some of the cheapest regular economy class fares at the time of booking. This program has worked to my material advantage in a big way.

Ha, I can't do math.
24 months without activity.
That's what I'm worried about here too. They could easily put YQ and take away the more miles option. Then the program is toast.

If they allowed international UGs from lowest fare I would still fly them.

Having said that, I'd still rank DL #2 in NA, mostly based on universal WiFi and better ground CS and ops.
If and when AC learns about WiFi and installs it on more than three planes, I'd move them up to #2 behind AA, IMO.
