I was also hard-pounded to Bronze from Diamond, despite having credited 8500 points worth of flights to Amigo.

It's a shame I had my hopes up for another year of *G. Oh well, I got a lot out of it while I had it.

I (and my wife) also downgraded from Diamond to Bronze. I only credited two flight to Amigo (~2000 point) so I don't have too much issue about the credited mile.

But, sorry to see that it was not a soft landing eventually. Need to find a stable *G status from now on.

I guess they thought the 4.5 months over time of status made up for the soft landing so they decided to end it cold turkey:

Diamond to bronze. Whats the next best strategy for star gold? Would have been nice to have a heads up could have matched elsewhere.

If you are Oneworld Emerald or SkyTeam Elite Plus or Emirates/Etihad Gold or higher or EL AL Platinum/Top Plat you could try Turkish.

This was a technical issue. They displayed the dimaond card one layer above the gold card. So if the website didn't load the diamond image it would appear as gold.

For me it is also Diamond -> Bronze. As I have another *G until 2021 the loss isn't to hard ;-)

Turkish. You could also go for Aegean if you manage the 4 flights/year with them.

Just another (late) data point. Brazil resident, soft landed to Silver. Good thru March 2019.

If it's any consolation *S means absolutely nothing anyway.

I mean I still prefer 12 months of Gold vs. 4.5 months of Diamond...

Trying to set up a new Amigo membership here - but if I put my UK address I get a repeated Zip Code error... I have tried the suggested 5 x zero's, with no luck.... anyone have any idea's ?

I tried calling their 0800 number and website help - beyond useless !! They didn't know what Amigo was !!

Thanks

Any updates on writing to Amigo regarding soft landing for non-Brazil residents?
