Just a data point. Watched a TACA Involuntary Denied Boarding situation CIX-LIM. They first offered $150 + hotel food vouchers and next day flight for volunteers, rose to $200. Then no shows gave space to resolve problem... except for the guy who showed up as the plan taxi away, he was some shouting mad.
