Yes. [That said, it's not $30/1000 all the way up.]

No...the top up price is the same as before. What it is saying is the top up is not charged at e.g. USD6 instead of USD12/1000.

Has anyone managed to get a stopover on a one way ticket? They have replied to two of my emails to say yes its possible but everytime I call it in they can't do it.

The problem is most if not all the CC agents don't really understand what a "stopover" is. To them, any stop is a "stopover", and I realized the system can't price an award booking with a stopover.

I'd be happy to be proven wrong, but it seems LM doesn't allow any stopovers.

I can't even get an overnight connection of less than 24 hours - or even a connection in the same day more than 8 hours apart (i.e. morning flights connecting to evening flights that day).

I think the title of this thread should be:

"Avianca/Taca Lifemiles may be Best (and worst) Program in Star"

From my experience they seem to have the same system as what we use online. The operator specifically told me that to add a night she has to use multi segment and then she needs to add a return. Exactly like their multi segment part online.

It seems like most of their agents are trained only up to the point of using the same website booking system.

OK, had my first experience with the Life Miles call centre today. Wow, what a joke. Called to cancel a simple one way reservation. Jeez Louise. Apparently, I've just asked the agent to perform brain surgery, blindfolded and with both hands tied behind his back. I hope they train their pilots better than their call centre staff.

Total elapsed time for a simple refund: 21 minutes. Paying the $50 redeposit fee took most of that time. Needed to key in credit card info twice, actually four times since the agent said their was a problem with the first "card accepted". Then, placed on hold four times.

Agent advised success (we'll see about that) and that 50K miles (20K plus the 30K cash for miles) would be back in my account in 72 hours. My $112 in taxes will be refunded in 3 months. 3 months?

The saying "you get what you pay for" comes to mind.

US to Europe via Asia

I am a bit stumped on this one :

Able to do a one-way J class award from Europe to US going via Asia, however unable to do the reverse (ie : US to Europe via Asia). The interesting thing is that KVS and ANA both confirm availability on the US-Europe and Europe-Asia legs just like it does on the Europe to US trip, however the LM.com engine does not pull it up as an option even if I select a specific carrier.

Anyone got this to work?
