Changing an award

I need to book an SFO-NRT award using LM. Currently only SEA-NRT is available and the SFO-SEA award seats are not. The question I have is if I booked and ticketed the SEA-NRT award now and am willing to pay the $150 later, can I add-on the SFO-SEA segment if seats become available prior to departure?

And the weird booking engine and horrible agents. Takes a huge value out of the program.

Yes if you're willing to deal with phone agents.

I have been trying for a week to get this route to price out and now today I try it jumped from 45k to 47.5k way to go LM's.

Furthermore they increase all routing I can see by 2.5k o/w . The Y fares remain the same the J/C fares increased by 2.5k and F by 5k

Which route? Maybe they're devaluing their award chart to compensate for the cheap miles they're selling. Still decent value for simple awards without stop overs compared to the Euro FFPs with their high fuel surcharges.

Seems like it. Some examples.

Australia > Singapore gone from 45k o/w to 47.5k in J
Australia > Europe gone from 100k o/w to 105k in F

So around a $37.5 increase in costs each way. Isn't the per passenger booking fee also a charge that wasn't around at this time last year?

This program seems slippery in one direction, with little to no advance notice about where they are taking the customers of this program.

Nonetheless, a devaluation without notice is awful. Just awful. Go eat your glitches and then go away. Ewwwwwwwwwww.

roundtrip NA->EUR->NA seems to still be pricing at 100k in C for the moment anyway

but EUR-NA oneway does show 52.5

and r/t EUR->NA->EUR is 105k

NA-EUR is 50k still

Lucky blogged about this today also. It looks like an unannounced devaluation.

They probably had to get in quick to recoup some of the losses from the abuse of this program!

The redemption chart has gone up.

Your need around 5K more miles for every destinations (return ex-Europe)

It's working for me, but this FFP is such a joke.
