GMP to SHA trip

I just got back from a trip to Shanghai. The OZ GMP-SHA route actually has a meal which surprised me, since the flight is only a little over 1 1/2 hours. Rice with shrimp and fish. A fifty-something Korean lady had 3 Heinekens during the flight and proceeded to hit on me.

The miles have already been credited along with a 10% bonus (for Diamond members). On my account it's listed as "BNS." Imho, this bonus makes the burn rate for OZ much better than before. 63,636 miles x 10% bonus = 70,000, enough for N. Asia - North America.

If anyone decides to go this route, exchange some pocket money in advance. I could not find a single currency exchange counter in GMP. SHA had one, but there's a 50 rmb ($7 U.S.) fee.

Hold on, does Gold get 5% or does the bonus start from Diamond and up?

Gold gets 5%, Diamond 10%, Diamond Plus 15% and Platinum 20%. Those bonuses are only for flying OZ metal and do not count towards status.

Question

Sorry to dig up this thread, but does anybody know which lounge OZ uses in SHA for this flight (I'll assume they have C on this flight)....
Thanks.....

And I've never been in the international OZ lounge at GMP. Does anybody know if they have a similar selection of drink/food to what they offer at ICN?

Any input appreciated!

Let you know later, I am flying today SHA-GMP and Tuesday GMP-HND

At Hongqiao airport now and I am in the lounge. IThey have two lounges one near gate B12 and one near B11. The B12 lounge is for the KE flight. It is a very small lounge with no windows and no hot food. I went to the wrong lounge so that's why I could investigate it.

Anyway, the B11 lounge is much bigger and has windows, but it is very hard to look outside as it is separated by the corridor for arrival passengers going to the bagage claim area. The lounge itself is nothing special. Cold and hot drinks and cup noodles. The have three warm dishers served as well, but doesn't look very nice. Actually I don't see anyone eating it. They have free wifi here, that's always a plus!!!

Just flew out of GMP, but I forgot I wasn't flying with OZ to HND but with JL. Anyway, the lounges are before immigration on the 1st Floor. I couldn't peek in the OZ lounge for you as they had blinded sliding doors.
I spent some time in the terminal as well, as there was a big mall in the airport. Very weird in the beginning I thought, but actually it is a great way to spend your time if you are too bored waiting in the lounge.
