The entire terminal is no smoking is totally unrelated to any smoking area inside the lounge. There are many airports in the world has designated smoking area or inside the lounge in a non smoking terminal.

You are from Canada, you know better both YVR and YYZ have the entire terminal non smoking, but there are designated smoking area in both airports. I can already name a few more that has smoking area inside the terminal, IAD, HKG, and NRT. With HKG and NRT actually has smoking area inside some lounges.

Thanks for the useful guide everyone.
We'll be experiencing the OZ lounge next week.

Does the C lounge also issue boarding passees?
I am flying F (*A award) JFK-ICN next week and wonder two things...

Where do I get the stopover tour scheduled and when?

Also what about arrival lounge? (I will be flying 12 hrs later on CA (in C as there is only 2 class flight.)

Unfortunately, there's no arrival lounge. Probably you can use lounge again before your departure..

I will be flying NRT-ICN OZ J and then ICN-LAX OZ F.

Will I have to clear any kind of customs? or is it an international terminal where you can browse the shops and stuff without doing customs?

Now my lounge question... Any F lounge in ICN? Any special treatment for F class pax like you find in SIN and FRA?

No customs, just additional security check point. Upon disembarking in ICN, follow "Transfer" sign and go up the escalator and do security check and there you are in departure airside area.

No special treatment. Just a better lounge than C side. But there's constant flow of hot food unlike C-lounge.

Transferrring in ICN is no difference than transferring in NRT. You will be arriving in Main concourse and departing from the same concourse.

Of course there is F lounge at ICN, that is where OZ base. I don't know what kind of special treatment for F pax in SIN, but there is nothing like FCL in FRA for LH (that is the only airport in the world has that sevice). The only special treatment for OZ F pax will probably be someone escort you from the lounge to your gate.

Do a search you will find plenty of information about OZ F lounge.

We'll be taking the Thai flight from ICN-BKK leaving at 935pm. Seems that the food on Lounge 'Concourse A' is served at 530pm. Normally, we wouldn't get to the airport that early. But is the food worth it?

The food certainly isn't worth getting to the airport early. When the new lounges first opened, the meal times were fixed in three very narrow time periods. AFAIK, the main terminal OZ lounge still has these very narrow time periods, but the concourse lounge has extended periods. Not sure, but maybe SQ or other airlines using this lounge complained to OZ. Back when I was using the C lounge, rather than the F lounge, I arrived about 19:30 when on the same TG flight (but it left earlier at 20:50), and there was still food there until past 20:00.

Last night we flew ICN/JFK. I don't remember the Concourse letter. I was told hot food would be put out at 6:00 (1800). By 6:20, it was just about gone (and no replacements). They cut up fried chicken pieces aka chicken nuggets and also had a hot veggie dish. The did have small cut up sandwiches, tuna, egg salad, and ham and cheese. My biggest complaint... no ice cream.

Were you flying OZ? It sounds like it, and if so you were using the main terminal lounge. My biggest complaint about that lounge is exactly what you reported. They put the hot food out, and if you aren't there that instant, it's all gone very quickly, unless it's something nobody likes. They might as well stop serving any hot food if they're going to be so extremely miserly about it. It probably creates a lot more ill will than having no hot food. The main terminal is used exclusively for OZ and KE flights, so if you were on an OZ flight, you only have the choice of that lounge.

If flying *A, you will be departing from the concourse terminal, so can use the concourse OZ lounge, though might also be able to use the main terminal lounge if you go there first before taking the train to the concourse. The concourse OZ lounge is much better these days (last time I checked there was several months ago) about the food, and generally have enough to last for at least one or two hours.

If you want ice cream, I'm afraid you're going to have to find a way into the F lounge, where they have Hagen Dazs ice cream cups and bars, which I should be enjoying tomorrow.

BTW, there is only one main terminal and one concourse terminal at ICN. The concourse initially was labeled "A Concourse", but they since have changed to label it just "Concourse" or sometimes "Concourse Terminal". I imagine once the next expansion phase is complete they'll change the labeling again.

Maybe it is time we have some of our resident Diamond+ complain about this. It is strange that the food selection is better when you are NOT flying OZ.

Because there are other airlines paying OZ for the service at concourse A.

It is the same reason UA RCC in HKG is like the best RCC in the system, as there are quite a few other carriers like AC and LH also use the lounge, hence that particular lounge has different hot food option during the day.

I understand the reasoning behind it but this still doesn't change the fact that someone should complain.
