If OZ has a lounge for arrivals it would be outside immigration/security, where there is none.

e.g. UA has arrival facilities outside immigration in SFO, as well as NH also has arrival facilities outside in NRT.

As already stated, "no". Not only that, but a double "no". First, you can't get through security unless you're on a connecting flight. If terminating at ICN they will not allow you through the security checkpoint. I know because I tried it once. Even if you could get through somehow, still you wouldn't be able to get into the OZ lounge because you wouldn't have a same-day *A departing boarding pass which is a requirement to get in. So absolutely no way to do this unless you really got lucky and both points were overlooked.

If you're terminating in ICN and can't get a hotel upon arrival or have some business meeting to attend to, they do have saunas all over the place in Korea that Korean businessmen frequent to take a shower and get some sleep after working or partying all night and they don't have time to go home before work the next day. I'm not sure but think they generally cost about 20,000 - 30,000 Won.

You can even enter w/o any BP as long as you have SEN card.

Another question related to the topic:

I'm arriving at ICN on 31JAN with OZ from FRA, then continue with OZ to REP on a seperate ticket later that day. Since I may not get the BP for ICN-REP at FRA (although I'll check my luggage through), is there a convenient OZ transfer desk where I can get my boarding pass?

When you arrive, find the transfer security check and go through it, then you'll go up to the third floor. Take a look at this terminal map of the departure level (third floor):

http://www.koreanair.com/local/na/gd...aa_ia_tm03.htm

Roughly where the orange dot is next to 'J', take the escalator up and you will see the OZ transfer desk. The transfer desk is on one side and the OZ C and F lounges are on the other side. It's easy to find and there are signs indicating 'Transfer Desk' to guide you there.

Thanks. Of course, we'd also like to take a stopover tour. But I want to make sure to get our BPs first, plus verify that our luggage is correctly routed through to REP.

Does the C lounge also issue boarding passees?

Not sure if the C lounge can issue boarding passes or not. I doubt it though being the transfer desk is only a 30-second walk from the C lounge.

Main concourse longe apparently opens at 5am.

Wondering if the A concourse lounge opens later, one post indicates that it does but no specificity with regards to time.

I ask because friends are arriving OZ from JFK (4:20am arrival) and connecting to Air China. Wondering whether they need to go to the Main Concourse lounge and kill time before heading over to Concourse A?

Smoking: Does Asiana allow smoking in its lounges at ICN? I hope not.

No. I didn't even notice a separate smoking enclosure at either of the two Business Class loungers at ICN. IIRC the entire terminal is no smoking, as is the case now in most of the civiiized world....

There are smoking lounges throughout the terminal.
No smoking rooms inside the lounge, though.

Actually I think they should have a designated smoking area inside the lounge, especially for people that have long layovers, unforunately they don't.
