IAH

Has Asiana ever considered flying IAH-ICN? It makes sense entirely if KE has it. KE going into IAH doesn't even have an partner in skyteam that can connect onwards incomparison to UA.

Flying in an 772 might work IMO.

There is no spare 777 or any spare planes to start any new long haul route, in a matter of fact OZ is in the process of returning 3 772 to the lessors that have non QS seats and non AVOD. So any new long haul routes have to wait until A350 arrive.

In addition to being short new planes, IAH has lost much appeal since low oil prices have forced many oil companies to cut back on business travel. Sub 1500 USD business class fares can be found transatlantic to IAH.With many new entrants, IAH is rather competitive at the moment and it is not certain OZ could achieve good yields.

I just came back on BR52 tonight, full sold out cabin front and back.

Not only is PAX full but Cargo is definitely full.
Current going rate for airline cargo is $3+/KG (Mainland china to IAH) due to too much demand and lack of supply. Even though oil has taken an hit.

I think the A350s will start arriving to OZ in 2017.
