hairpeace - In response to your earlier question - I have now completed the trip with EY booked with OZ miles. SYD-AUH-FRA in F, no issues whatsoever with the ticket once it was issued. Fantastic trip!

That's a bit frustrating. Why can't OZ have accurate charts on their website?

PEK/PVG - AUH- DUB falls within the maximum permitted mileage.
The Asiana website is clear in terms of partner awards that the itinerary may not exceed the Maximum Permitted Mileage for the city-pairs. Actual MPM information is not controlled by OZ, rather is defined by IATA and is not published for free online, although it is pretty easy to obtain access through paid third-party sites.

I haven't on EY via AUH but I have tried JFK-IST-ICN on TK which is also over the atlantic and significantly shorter than via AUH. The agent refused to ticket the itinerary because I was travelling "the wrong way". They recommended me to fly on OZ JFK-ICN.

Asiana Points for US-SEA on Etihad or Qatar
I'm looking specifically to fly IAD-AUH-BKK or IAD-DOH-BKK. Per GCmap, these are 10177 and 10211, MPM is 10761 for Pacific and 11992 for Atlantic, so that should be fine.
The one data point I'm seeing is post #23 by OP. Was that the US, or Korea call center?

I suspect OZ will still direct you to fly via the Pacific rather than via the Atlantic.

Hey guys,
Just jumping into this thread based on a mod's redirect.
Would SYD-AUH-JFK be a single ticket or would it be two? I'm guessing 2 because the MPM for SYD-JFK is 11,934 and the SYD-AUH-JFK routing takes it to 14,393. IATA shows MPM only over the Pacific ... so I assume it's not a legal routing.
I suppose the SYD-AUH-LHR is the best/longest routing available within MPM with the A380? I am starting in SYD or MEL
