What's your budget? I've booked the LeMeridien via www.asia-rooms.com before for $70 or so a night. Otherwise, the Kaha hotel booking booth at the airport often has good deals on the 4 and 5 star places.
I've stayed at smaller 4 star places for $40-$60 a night. Many of the other locations will cost $100-$180 a night if you book them outside of Indonesia. They usually have local rates, which if you have a local associate, they can often save you 50% off the gringo rates.

sounds like Dharmawangsa or one of the 2 Ritz Carltons
(first opened May 1 2005, Pacific Place opened Nov 22 2007)
both RCs are FHR
Dharmawangsa - 100 rooms
RC Jakarta - 333 rooms (all can be club)
top FHR upgrade looks like >
mayfair suite (110m2) > ritz carlton suite (250m2) (3 suites)
RC Jakarta, Pacific Place - 62 (club) rooms and 139 residences
top FHR upgrade looks like >
mayfair spa suite (127m2) > ritz carlton suite (170m2) (1 suite)

As this question is not specific to Luxury Hotel properties in Jakarta, I am moving this to the FT Asia Forum.

Luxury Hotels
On top of the hotels listed by Kagehitokiri, other top level hotels include Hotel Mulia and the Four Seasons.
Personally I'm a fan of the InterContinental, though it's more upscale than luxury. If you have Ambassador or Royal Ambassador status it's worthwhile staying there though, they're generous with upgrades (there's a lot of suites in the hotel to upgrade you into).
It's probably also worth looking at where you need to be in Jakarta and locating yourself in that area - traffic in Jakarta can be *very* bad. Proximity to the tollway is a plus as well, especially getting to and from the airport.
will IC upgrade A/RA from club suite (68m2) to presidential suite(180m2)?
I couldn't say for sure on that - dependng on what I'm there for I usually book a standard room which gets an upgrade to a 1br suite, or a club room, which gets an upgrade to a 1br club suite. They used to give all RA's club access as well before they renovated the club, but since then it's only by paying you get access (but they did improve it a fair bit, so is more worth the cost now). Might be worth contacting the hotel to find out if the Presidential Suite is an upgrade possibility though.
Well, I am looking for a luxury hotel in Jakarta. And would like to know if anyone have experiences from RC or FS or other top-ends there, and which one I should go for? I am going there for touristic reasons.
Just a note that the Kempinski will be opening sometime this year too (was meant to be in April, but that might have slipped now). It's located opposite the Grand Hyatt, and part of the redeveloped Grand Indonesia complex. Looks like it'll be a pretty nice hotel too (and if you've got money to spare there's a 412sqm Presidential Suite listed for about US$9000 per night plus tax )
(interestingly the current InterContinental MidPlaza in Jakarta was formerly a Kempinski too).
The Grand Hyatt is well-located, above a sizeable mall which you can get almost anything, LV or grocery.
As Jakarta is usually in heavy flooding during the rainy seasons of January and February, you probably want to live in hotels that are within easy reach of food or your meeting place.
The Jakarta airport has just been shut down for 5 hours yesterday due to heavy flooding.

I was in Jakarta last year during flooding, and while troublesome, it wasn't anything out of the ordinary. Just make sure your hotel is not in the low area.

Flooding in Jakarta can be rather out of the ordinary. I very narrowly missed getting stuck in a 9-hr traffic jam last year when a dike burst and flooded the airport highway, and in the really bad floods two years ago, a colleague was stuck in her apartment building for several days -- in normally flood-safe south Jakarta at that -- because all the roads around it became impassable.
