weight room near Sukhimvit ? health club

i am picking up my suits this Wednesday . I arrive in BKK @ 10 am and have 4 pm flight .

It gives me time to go to Raja's , and another few hrs for gym and lunch.

i usually stay @ Jw Marriot and their gym is fine , but I am looking for a complete health club , in general vicinity .

thanks

There's a fitness club at the SGS.

For my money, the JWM's gym is FAR better than the SGS.

Another option is the Landmark (Fitness First), which has more machines more free wieghts, and more classes, but nother different than the JWM. I have not tired the California WOW on Suk and Soi 23, as their daily rate seemed to high to me.

Just what are you looking for that the JWM's gym does not offer? That might help people give you better advice.

Jw Marriot was fine, but though may be more complete options.

i actually just stayed @ Grande Sheraton Suk , a few weeks ago (and I know gym). I guess first off , what is price of JW marriot ? for health club and then is there more complete and/or cheaper $ option close by . MY suits are on Soi Nana . i only have from 11 am to 2:30 pm .

I am looking for free weights , and yes the Marriot would work , but a more complete "gold's gym " type is preferrable . also , i have been in SE Asia for 1 month and $$ is adding up .

I don't thnk the JSM is open to non-memebers on a daily basis, but you might want to check with them. Fitness First doesn allow dai;y users, for around 500baht per day. They used to have a weekly trial rate.

I am not aware of any places like Gold's.

There are no "Gold's" gyms in Bangkok, but:

California WOW clubs (a) in Siam Paragon shopping mall (attached to SIAM skytrain station) and (b) in the Jasmine Tower on Soi 23 Sukhumvit Road (near ASOKE/SUKHUMVIT subway station) are good...full range of free weights, weight machines, cardio machines, spinning classes, body combat, body pump, yoga, step, aerobics, pilates training, etc. ... but not sure about daily rates....California WOW

True Fitness (a large gym) is opening very shortly in Exchange Tower (formally named the Pornpat Tower) on the corner of Asoke and Sukhumvit (near the Sheraton Grand Sukhumvit).....(the owner is a former partner in California WOW I heard).....

I'm a member of California WOW and I'm not too impressed with the Paragon property, though, in terms of a crowd, it is quite a bit lighter than Silom or Asok. Daily rates are pretty high -- 400 Baht. HOWEVER, if you go in there, even as a farang, and give them the impression that you're a potential customer, they may give you a tour and a free 5 or 7-day pass. Downside to these free passes is you're not allowed to use the club between 4:30pm - 8:30pm on weekdays.

Beware -- the sales agents are quite persistent, if not downright bullying. Check out this blog post regarding this matter: Getting Ripped Off at California Wow

There are Clark Hatch fitness centres in Thaniya Plaza (Silom Road Saldaeng BTS), At the Charn Isarra II at new Petchaburi Road and Ekkamai, Century Park on Ratchprarob Road, and the Amari Watergate Road. They are for the most part well run,non glitzy, fitness centres which are friendly reasonably priced and well run. ^
