No transit facility.

Also a close-in Sheraton (Bandara) if you have points to burn - and some dollars to burn on visa and exit tax. But with the kerfuffle of entering and leaving the county, you wouldn't have much time to enjoy Sheraton comforts.

Staying airside, the lounges I've visited aren't havens of peace to stretch out in, and I don't think they have showers. But it's not an uncomfortable airport to kill time in.

The airport hotel is quite comfortable, I would pay the VOA $25 n get a nice massage and some zzzzz......

None of the lounges are that great, IMHO.

Indonesia VOA is now USD35 and departure Tax is Rp200,000.
This is what I paid in DPS 2 weeks ago.

Now to prove I have bought the odd T shirt :
They say, tidak mahal (not expensive). I say, setikit mahal (little expensive).

Then, I give up and sit down :
bintang din yin secarli, terima kasih (very cold Bintang beer please).

That's it, I'm done. Nothing left in the locker.

Let me add, that all the people I meet in Bali are beautiful people and very clever. Many are bilingual. Their English is 10x better than my Indonesian will ever be.

can't find any updates. is the airport hotel open or still closed for renovations?

“Hotel is closed for renovation”

Tried to book both online and by contacting them directly via email. Was informed that the hotel is closed, at least thorough my desired travel date, which is April 9, 2014. It would be nice if there was information on the hotel's website.

Was this review helpful? Yes 20

As at July 2014, the Hyatt Hotel, Sanur, is a pile of ruble (ie demolished). It didn't reach Hyatt standards, so it was demolished. A new one is planned to be built on the site. Dunno when.

Note. This is Sanur Denpasar. Not Jakarta. Is the review (and you) looking at the correct location.

A little correction:

setikit ==> sedikit (a little)
din yin secarli ==> dingin sekali (very cold)

Jakarta airport hotel still closed as of 8/31/2014

We were just there. It is still closed. There are no 24 hr lounges either.
Ridiculous.

Well, it's such a simple phonetic language that there is no excuse for the errors!

Why ridiculous ? Few airports/airlines offer 24H lounges, and not so many have hotels attached to the terminal. Apart from the (expensive) Sheraton Bandara next door, there are a number of hotels within easy taxi/shuttle reach of CGK.
