Siem reap hotels

Got 3 nights in a Siem Reap. Where would you stay if it was your honeymoon?

Without hesitation at the Sofitel. Here are some reviews (including mines) from the Accor forum of Flyertalk

Residence D'Angkor and Raffles are quite nice. I haven't stayed at the Sofitel yet.

Try luxurylink or groupon Malaysia for some very good deals on stays in Siam Reap. I'm not a rep for any of these companies but have booked 10 stays between both of them in the last year.

Thanks for the advice. Luxury link has a deal on for Residence D'Angkor that is interesting.

Any thoughts on the Heritage Suites Hotel?

Probably booking a suite at any of the 5* hotels.

I'm having the same thinking process.

For now I'm booked at the Privilege floor of the Borei hotel. I hadn't even considered the Sofitel as I thought it would be too packed.

Residence looks nice. I also mailed the Park Hyatt and they told me they would open reservations within the next two weeks so I'll get the rates and might stay there after all.

FYI - our deal at the Residence D' Angkor included a river front room (we are upgraded), 120 spa credit, 3 course dinner, airport transfers, and a few smaller perks. Via Luxury Link it was $600+ for 3 nights. They seem to run that deal pretty often.

Will report next week after our stay.

OT

OT - not on honeymoon but biz trip. Don't need 5 star, but 3 star to 4 star is fine.

A friend recommended Lux Riverside Hotel which has service apt [one bedroom apt] available. Any comments on this place?

Any recommendations for a hotel/resort not too far from old town that has a large swimming pool?

Victoria Hotel is one that comes to mind quickly.
