Like with all things, it depends. What sort of attractions are you looking for? Have a look at Tokyo, Hong-Kong, Seoul, Shanghai, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and decide what do you want to see/do, how much time you have...
Asia is a big and diverse region. I would suggest you do some of your own research and come back with more specific questions about a particular place, country or region of Asia.
Your request is so general it is really impossible to answer.

Right. Which is why it is impossible to answer a question like this without knowing what the OP likes. And since it's such a gigantic and diverse place you couldn't see it all in one work trip anyway. :-)

Asia is huge. Pinpoint!
From Wikipedia:
Asia (Listeni/ˈeɪʒə/ or /ˈeɪʃə/) is the world's largest and most populous continent, located primarily in the eastern and northern hemispheres. It covers 8.7% of the Earth's total surface area (or 30% of its land area) and with approximately 4.3 billion people, it hosts 60% of the world's current human population. During the 20th century Asia's population nearly quadrupled.[3]
Asia is defined as comprising the eastwards four-fifths of Eurasia. It is located to the east of the Suez Canal, the Ural river, and the Ural Mountains, and south of the Caucasus Mountains (or the Kuma-Manych Depression) and the Caspian and Black Seas.[4][5] It is bounded on the east by the Pacific Ocean, on the south by the Indian Ocean and on the north by the Arctic Ocean.
Given its size and diversity, Asia – a toponym dating back to classical antiquity – "is more a cultural concept" incorporating diverse regions and peoples than a homogeneous physical entity.[6] Asia differs very widely among and within its regions with regard to ethnic groups, cultures, environments, economics, historical ties and government systems.

Although I personally like Beirut, I'm assuming you don't mean West Asia. So limiting ourselves to East/Southeast Asia, if this is your first time in Asia I think it would be hard to top Hong Kong. Extremely tourist-friendly, great food, developed infrastructure and one of the grandest colonial cities in Asia. It is extremely crowded, but it's not that much worse than other major cities in East Asia. It's also only a stone's throw away from Macau and fairly close to Guangzhou. (I'd skip Shenzhen)
May is a good time of year to visit Seoul or Beijing, but I don't think either city is really tourist-friendly. I like Bangkok in small doses but I think it's simply too shocking to be a good first place to visit in Asia.
