Bagan (Nyaung U) Airport closing for 12 days?

Bagan (Nyaung U) Airport closing for 12 days?
I just received notification from an OTA that all flights to/from Bagan are cancelled from 11 January to 23 January for airport renovation.
Has anyone else seen anything about this?
I thought that this was the high season in Myanmar, and would have thought it highly improbable that a 12-day closure of the only airport near to the most touristic city in the country would be scheduled for the high season.
Any confirmation would be very much appreciated. TIA!
