Should be OK if flight is on time, or even a little late.

If it's one PNR, they would put her on a later flight, but you, of course would most likely have to take the original flight

I will arrive the day before and meet her at the airport when she arrives. We will then catch a PAL express flight to Puerto Princesa that departs from terminal 3 at 7:10am.

We have 2 hours 20 min in which I have to meet her and go from T2 to T3.

Is this doable?
Both of us will only have carry-on baggage and we will check-in online for our PAL express flight. Philippine airlines and PAL express are pretty much the same company so will they guarantee the ticket if her flight arrives late?

Is there a good place in Terminal 2 that I could meet her? I only have a ticket for a departing flight in T3 so maybe I can't get into the terminal?

Thanks in advance.
PAL offers an airside shuttle for connecting passengers between Terminals 2 and 3. I suggest she take the bus to Terminal 3, then the two of you meet there.

Question

Hi,

I will be arriving on an OZ flight in BIZ around midnight and have an Air Asia flight at 05.20 in the morning most likely leaving out of T4....any ideas as to how to spend the time in between?

Would be nice to get some advice?
Maybe hit some of the casinos?
Will any *A lounge be open?
It will be a Saturday night......

Thank you very much for any suggestions...did not really find much on the net....

That is not really a lot of time to go around outside but the Resorts World Manila has a casino and is near the airport. It is in the Newport mall which has some nice restaurants, and also has the Republiq nightclub and the Opus nightclub. The Republiq is open until 5 am on Saturday.

Hi,
thanks....problem will be the luggage!

I have mailed the Solaire Hotel + Casino they said they would be willing to keep our luggage while we are with them....I assume the taxi ride over there should not be too bad?!
Its about 4 miles...so also the cost should be reasonable?

I'm guessing about 5 or 6 Dollars based on what it ran me to go to my hotel from NAIA, maybe less.

They charged me 25$ to go to the Pasay area but I am a foreigner and it was during heavy traffic

Which one did you use? Metered? or the fixed priced one (zone based)? IIRC, there's 3 kinds of taxi services in MNL. 2 are metered and 1 is priced by zones.

Sounds like highway robbery to me. Literally.

Yes, that is why I didn't tip them. The same price was charged when I returned to Manila from Palawan so it wasn't a fluke thing

Or went the long way around.

They did that to me one time, and I commented that we are now at another terminal as we passed through the taxi area, and meter was 50% higher than previous trip to same hotel.

Waited till I got out of taxi with both of my items, asked doorman for assistance, and offered to pay what I paid before.

Offer accepted, though taxi driver was not pleased.

That's like 1100 Piso. With the maximum benefit of doubt, worst traffic and a scenic route, no way can a Yellow Airport Meter Taxi come out to much more than 300 to any place in Pasay. 1100 is outright robbery. I'd scream bloody murder, refuse to pay more than the 200 or 300 it should be and dare him to call the cops on me if he didn't like it, threaten to call the cops on him, actually call the complaint number on the taxi slip, in front of him and generally escalate the scene and totally flip out. Having 1100 come up on a meter for a trip from the airport to anywhere in Pasay is an incident that would not go well.

Didn't even realize the any of the taxi meters have that many digits to represent >P1000. Did they try to charge you in dollars? or peso? Even the more expensive zone based taxis wouldn't charge you that much.
