So she's now called Queen Maxima or Queen Consort Maxima?

Oh my, I'm going to have fun with this.

Thanks to all for your cooperation.

Anyways, we have Queen Juliana Awada now and she's even prettier than Maxima.

She is of Lebanese-Syrian heritage. I wonder how many degrees of separation she has from my Menem acquaintances.

I find it sort of amusing that one of her family's names is the same as that of the QR CEO.

Of which there are quite a few even in my small town....our greengrocer was born in the Lebanon.

Must say how nice it will be to have a normal and decent looking couple representing the country for a change. She speaks fluent English as does her husband I suspect which will certainly help with foreign relations.
The runner up looked more like a dodgy second hand car salesman and as for his missus....

Indeed there are many Syrian-Lebanese -- many of Arab Muslim or Arab Christian descent but some of Armenian or Jewish descent -- in many Latin American countries. In terms of Latin Americans who attend the better universities in the US and/or end up living or working in NYC or DC in some of the more prestigious corporate and intergovernmental institutions in the US, they are very well represented relative to their numbers in their home countries in Latin America. The wealthiest Latin American is all also of Syrian-Lebanese descent, but he is Mexican not Argentine.

When it comes to whom I want running a country, I am not interested in voting based on telegenic appearance of the candidate or their significant other, but a plastic surgery king or queen does make me wonder if there are some kind of insecurities that are going to manifest themselves at work in some rather unpleasant ways. The former Argentine President reminded me of that plastic surgery cat lady.

Is it really true that the Argentine gyms are the place to go looking for eye candy? Maybe you should check them out, Hiddy, and arrange for an FT DO at one of the happening gyms in Buenos Aires/Capital Federal.

Maxima has the advantage that she can't be traded in for a younger model.

Is that an advantage or a disadvantage?

Being "First Lady" isn't for everybody. Some just don't like a gilded cage, and some who do like a gilded cage don't get to have it.
