Thai Airways Royal Orchid Plus - Can I get boarding pass night before TG flight?

Hi all,

I was hoping someone might be able to advise me on this.

I am flying domestic in Thailand from HKT-BKK on a late Air Asia flight arriving into BKK at 0030. I have a Thai flight later that same morning to HKG at 0800 (in biz class).

I know the TG lounges are closed, but I am considering staying in the airside hotel, but I would think i would need a boarding pass for this, so my question is if anyone know if I can get a boarding pass from Thai the night before (and if so how) and will this let me transfer to international airside from my domestic flight 7.5 hrs before my international flight leaves? Will Thai still have their transit desk open?

I will be traveling with hand luggage only.

Even if I decide to stay at the Novotel instead, it would still be nice to have already checked in so I can avoid lines etc. in the morning

Any advice appreciated!

No, they will not issue boarding passes the night before for flights the next day. At least that was the case a few months ago last time I tried it. If you're flying in on TG however, they will normally be able to issue you your onward boarding pass when checking in for your first segment. This obviously doesn't help you any being you're flying in on Air Asia.

If you want to stay in the dayrooms, I was told by one of the checkpoint security staff that they will let you in without your onward boarding pass. I've yet to try it or hear from anyone who did, so don't expect 100% that it will work. That was for an international arrival though. For domestic arrivals I don't know if they'd allow you in to the international secure area without a boarding pass...probably not.

Hi, noticed you were flying from AKL and now to HKG, why don't you get TG to extend your ticket to cover Phuket, why pay to use Air asia?, solves a few problems, regards bkkrop

Thanks for that very helpful advice! I will now not even try to book a room at the terminal hotel (which is a difficult process judging by other posts) and instead go for the more expensive but infinitely more comfortable option of the Novotel!

lets hope it has a decent bar...

Thanks bkkrop... We are in Thai on the other domestic legs, not letting my wife and daughter travel on Air Asia for their flight, its just that the Air Asia flight is the last out of Phuket that night, so I can still have dinner with my family before heading out!
