Spain/Portugal/Gibraltar - Please Help: Madrid Airport Question

Hello.
So we are landing Wednesday morning (via Delta, from JFK) at the Madrid airport at 7:25am. We then have a connecting flight on Air Europa (Terminal 2) at 9:25am. That leaves us a slim two hours to make it through customs and get our connector. Is this possible?

A few factors:
- It's the only connector flight we could get. I'd love to change to a later one, but it's not an option.
- We are NOT checking bags, so that should (hopefully) cut some time out of this process.
- We do not know what terminal Delta arrives at (their site says it's TBD), but the flight is on-time 95% of the time.
- We are able-bodied and can run, if needed.

Any advice? Should we be wearing running shoes once we land?

Thanks!

Hey
welcome to FlyerTalk

Delta seems to park at Terminal 1, which is connected to Terminal 2 (basically the same building). It's going to be a longer walk but absolutely doable in 2 hours. No need to run nor rush - buy yourself a coffee and relax.

FYI: Problem starts with Terminal 4, which is a new and separate one, but I'd say that 2 hours would be possible there as well.

Good luck and have a nice flight!

I agree, no need to worry unless your inbound flight is delayed considerably.

I've never found passport and security queues/lines to be a problem at Barajas and, as you say, waiting for baggage to arrive will not be a consideration.

I recently arrived at, and departed from, Barajas in the space of around five hours. In this time I went to the city centre, had lunch and did some shopping.

We are NOT checking bags, so that should (hopefully) cut some time out of this process.

Even if you check bags this will not slow you down. Since both Delta and Air Europa are Skyteam members, your bags can be sent straight to your final destination, especially if both flights are on the same ticket.
Contrary to the US, in Europe you do not have to pick up and recheck your bags when arriving on an intercontinental flight with a connection.
