EgyptAir have opened the first of 4 new Star Alliance lounges in T3. A move in the right direction given the quality and standard of the airline's previous offering.

With the arrival of the new B77Ws and A333s next year, refitting of the A332s (starts next year), delivery of new B738s and retirement of the A342s, B772s and B735s, we should see a drastic improvement in the airline's on-board product. The airline will remove F class, install new C class lie-flat seats and install PTVs in Y (whilst maintaining the 34" pitch).

Thanks for sharing the information. While they remove F seats, they opened a F lounge. Hmmm. For some people like myself who enjoy earning 300% miles flying F, it will be a big problem if they remove F seats from all flights. Anyway, it is good to hear they opened the F lounge at CAI. I wonder if they have installed Wifi in the lounge. When I was there 2 months ago, they did not have one.

Like myself too. Suffer in F while we can. Think of only the miles!

I think OP told that MS has opened THE first of four lounges in T3 and not a First Class Lounge. There is a Business and a First Class sections for all *A carriers.

Oh, you are right. But it's funny at least the 3 lounges were already open when I was at CAI in July. I guess the airline update on their web site is just too slow.
Kats, the previous lounge was temporary as work on completing the alliance lounges fell behind.

OK, I hope they have wifi by the time I return to CAI in January. I will have an 11 hour layover there.
I fly out of CAI frequently and am sad to report their lounge, which I last used 4 weeks ago, is incredibly poor. No wifi, uninterested attendants, warm soda water, no alcohol, no newspapers or magazines in English, lots of loud children in a stark room with echoes.
That said, there are growing pains and maybe they will make some improvements. I'll be flying out of there tomorrow and will stop by the lounge and see if it is worth staying in. Last time I escaped to the food court and ate Burger King which was better than the offerings and atmosphere in the lounge.
