Hi

I know most of people here won't have any issues but I am a college grad so had some basic doubts. If anybody could clear it or just post the link for literature.I felt these questions were specific so thought of starting a thread.

My score is above 700 and my credit report issue is experian I believe.

I wanted to know that :
1) What is normally called household income if somebody is living with a roommate?
2)Do we need to give real phone number of place you are working as office number or it can be of friends?
3)Do somebody studying in university and if working part time in (IT in univ) mention himself/herself as student or IT prof or something?Does it affect whether you will get card ?
4)When you try to look at site like amex which card you qualify for and give your ssn ,is it soft pull or hard pull?
5)Does getting quote from agencies like 21st century insurance considered soft or hard?

Thank you

You have credit scores at all the reporting agencies, not just Experian. Lenders will pull whichever they want to. Are you having a particular "issue" with Experian?

You could have gotten away with including roommates in HHI in the past, but now many companies are being very careful. If your occupation, or residence areas (i.e. large student population) would indicate a low average HHI, I would hesitate to put a large number here that you cannot readily support with documentation (tax returns, payroll statements, etc).

Keep in mind if they do a review, they will want to see that HHI, so consider if your roommates will provide you with their income information.

2)Do we need to give real phone number of place you are working as office number or it can be of friends?
I put the number I want them to contact me at. Usually my cell phone. I do not find that this makes a huge difference.

If you aren't actually apply for credit, but looking at offers, it shouldn't count as a hard pull. Most insurance companies, from what I've observed, also pull soft.

I would suspect that you should consider yourself a student. Reason being is that your income will be fairly low. If you were, in fact, an IT "Professional", the CC company would probably assume that you should have a higher income - Possibly raising a red flag.

Bottom line, I don't think anyone can give you a firm answer because there are so many CC companies and so many different people doing reviews of the applications.
