Thai Airways Royal Orchid Plus - Paying for a ticket booked on TG website

This is the first time I booked on TG website. So please excuse my silly question. I got a good fare (much less than what my TA could get) and confirmed with the option of paying for the ticket at TG office in Hong Kong within 72 hours. I thought that it would be a nice way to have an option for 72 hours. I now wish to pay and find it convenient to directly do it on the website with a credit card rather than going to the office. Is there a way I can do that? I could not find one.

Hmm, I thought you can only book and pay at the same time. I never see the option of paying later. But that might be different by markets.

I did the same, and emailed taipei ticket office and asked if it was possible. They said I should make a new booking on the website and pay right away.

Hi Brunos, you will have to reopen your ROP window, select your flight again, thenproceed through the pages, ie passengers name etc, then submit your credit card details. It will give you options as you go to proceed or go back. Once that transaction is completed, the E ticket will come through on the screen for printing. Double check the fare basis of the ticket. Almost all discount fares on the website DO NOT give ROP mileage. Reading in between the lines, I feel you believe you have booked a ticket, in reality you haven't, regards bkkrop
I once did an online booking and for some reason there was a problem (though I can't recall now the exact details of what the problem was). I ended up calling TG in Thailand and they were able to take down my information and manually process the booking there as if it had been all done electronically. Try what others suggest but if you have a problem, such as the fare no longer being available, call to TG in Thailand and explain the problem.

Definitely double check that, but most definitely there are discount booking classes available in some markets to some destinations that do earn miles. The non-mileage earning booking classes are only economy and only V,W,G. Depending on which route you're flying, Q is very often one of the options. If you get an option to select which type of fare you want, first click on the link for each fare type and see if it says it earns miles or not, before selecting which one you want. Of course any business or first class tickets purchased will earn miles as there are no non-earning classes there for purchased tickets.

Thank you all. Just to clarify, this is a HKG-BKK-HKG in P class at very decent fare (lesser than all other Biz options. TG sent me a confirmation email fromnet.flightrsvn@thaiairways.com stating the exact fare (taxes included) and details of the booking. This is week end, and I cannot call TG office.
Fan252, at payment option I had two choices, either pay by cc and et the eticket issued immediately, or pick up ticket at TG office within 72 hours.
nick5000 I thought about doing a new booking and letting this one expire after 72 hours; but the problem is that I took the last F seat, and there is no more to book, at any fare. I might call TG to cancel my booking and then try again, but not sure that I will still get it.
BKKROP, I am not sure I understand. You seem suggesting that I do a new booking. I can access my booking thru "check-my-booking", but I cannot touch it. In other words, I can see the flights, cabin of service, seats selected etc... but this is a purely passive screen. I cannot change anything.(except seats). Please note that I did not use my old ROP number as I am now using BD. The booking does show as well on check-my-trip.
Not the end of the world, I can go and pick up the ticket monday, but would prefer avoiding the trip and lost time. This can usually be done with most airlines I use. Clearly the 72 hours flexibility is very useful, so that I can get my wife to join me in BKK from a different destination and not spend money before I am sure that it will all work out in terms of booking. I know that TAs could have tried to do that, but 1) miine is more expensive than TG website and 2) I have time to attend these matters on week-ends only when they are closed.
Again, Thanks so much for your helpful hints.

Hi brunos, I would say you have made the booking on a TA's page or maybe BD's, either way, the booking will appear on TG's website, but they would not be able to accept payment other than from the booking source. What you can do however is to do a ROP booking if you are able to duplicate the price, then cancel your original booking. If you fly Monday and your TA has been able to hold that booking for you, he/she has some good business connections!! regards bkkrop

Thanks BKKROP. I made booking on TG website without login as ROP. I can enter pax details. When moving to payment page I can either pay by cc and have eticket issued immediately or go to TG city office to issue ticket within 72hours. This was confirmed by TG email with fare amount. So I assume that the system regards the HKG city office of TG as the TA. Ticket can be issued until tuesday, so I will call TG city office monday. If they accept payment on credit card by telephone that is great. Otherwise, I can go to city office which is not that inconvenient. Thanks a lot for spending the time helping me better understand how this works.
