from october 14th Jet is moving to LHR T4.
and for J/F pax, they will be using the new Etihad Lounge in T4.
and very much welcome and big improvement on the AAdmirals club that they currently use in T3! Glad they did not opt for the generic SkyTeam Lounge but went after the new Etihad Lounge
T4 is halfway through a makeover and is on track to being a comfortable place to depart from.

http://www.jetairways.com/EN/IN/ProductAndServices/PassengerInformation.aspxI didn't mind the AAdmirals club - it wasn't that bad...
The current 9w handling (is it farmed out?) at LHR is not as good as it used to be...

Hmmm, I have a trip to LHR in 9W J next month.
Is the Etihad Lounge where the old BA lounge used to be at Gate 10?
And now my big decision: Would it be worth it to upgrade to F one-way using either 54k miles or 5 vouchers??? (Availability is there!)
Or does anyone know if 9W offers paid upgrades from J->F at either LHR or DEL check-in? And if so any ideas on cost? (am 9W Plat if that that makes a difference...)

it started out as United then switched to Aviance ground handling. Recently ive started to see that F and J desks are manned by Jet staff not aviance.

Thank God for that :D

saying that, i doubt they have any leeway in using discretion for anything. I bet they still have to refer to the supervisor who has to refer to the station manager Amit something who probably has to phone India headquaters who have to refer to their supervisor who refers to the vice president who refers to the Goyal household maid who wakes NG up from his slumber to authorize an extra lounge pass or something!
but it looks more professional, having your own staff interacting with premium passengers.

I think that's the point. The impression it creates - having your own staff man the desks - is vastly different from an obviously outsourced operation. Something like a back-end call center in another country, but much more in your face!
