Qatar Airways Privilege Club - 30 mins layover in DOH

I'm flying with Qatar in October from LHR to JNB via DOH.

On the outward journey (leave LHR @ 21:30) I've got a 30 minute layover in DOH, on the way back I've got 45 minutes. Qatar let me book this flight, but as there's only 1 flight a day from DOH to JNB, if I miss it there's big problems!

Will 30 mins actually be enough? Is there anything I can do give a better chance of making the connection?

From what I heard on the MAN-DOH flight yesterday, you get some sort of short transfer wallet when you check into your first flight so you should get some sort of priority service. Because DOH seems to be all bus boarding (and it was easily a 10 minute drive from the terminal to the plane for my DOH-MCT flight last night, 30 minutes seems short (you should ideally be at gate 40 minutes prior to flight time). If they let you book it...... They should sort you out though I don't know what the short transfer wallet entails.....

Only 30 minutes? LOL! It takes 15 to 20 minutes once the plane has parked and you bussed to the terminal. One one point I was not sure if the bus would take us to Dubai because it took such a long time.

I guess that they must have some sort of procedures in place to make sure that people from incoming flights with a short connection are taken care of.

I have taken that very flight before and it was no problem. The LHR plane is usually early to start off with. Secondly, they'll hold the JNB plane in case of delays. I have flown DOH-JNB multiple times and I have yet to experience an on time departure on that flight. They always manage to land in time, though.

So, in general unless there is a massive delay on the DOH bound flight you will make your connection.

Also had a 30 mins transit time at DOH recently on a BKK-DOH-FRA routing; in the end, had a 1 hour 30 mins transit-time as the BKK-DOH flight arrive 1 hour EARLY at DOH ^

As per above posting: they seem to have rather long block-times published, so when they sell a 30 mins. transit, they will not do this knowing it will not be possible...

Right, I had one JNB-DOH flight which was 1.45 hours late departing and still arrived with only 2 minutes delay (to be pedantic)
