Other Hotel Programs - How long to wait before claiming A|Club points?

Having never had points fail to post, after getting the email about the new improved system, they stopped posting! My points used to post by about the second day after checkout, but now.....black hole.

So my question - how long do people normally wait before making a missing points claim?

you're very lucky if you never had any missing points before ! For me it was about 60%... Since they improved their system this summer, it's 100%. I think you have to wait 10 days before claiming the missing points

I have also always gotten the points the following day, but lately it is taking a bit longer (i.e. 3 days wait) no matter what chain I have been staying with. I could imagine it could have something to do with all the promotions they are running at the moment...

As Goldorak says, wait for at least 10 days...

I found in the T&C's (looking for something else), and it says 6 weeks!

10.1.1. Earned A|Club points
If the Member notices that A|Club points have not been properly credited to his or her account after a minimum waiting period of six (6) weeks,

FWIW, I submitted a claim after the ten days :)

I'd wait a week for hotel points to post, partner points might take a bit longer. Once the claim is in (electronically) they usually post quickly.

Lucky most of the Sofitel properties are great - because AClub stinks.

I've given up contacting them directly for missing points - I just fire off a filthy email to the General Manager of the hotel concerned, and usually find they post within 24 hours. Exception is the excellent Sofitel Melbourne, which has a 100% record of posting points (along with recognising Platinum benefits).

Ditto, did the same for Sofitel Fiji, had the points added manually by them.

i generally wait about 2 weeks. However, as others have suggested, sometimes a phone call to the hotel takes care of it.

I always send the invoice on the form via the website the next day, and have the points same day.

Hmmm. This year so far - 9 stays, over 30 nights, only one stay got the points added as it should despite me watching them enter it in the computer in each instance. I have managed to get another stay credited since by contacting the hotel. Still waiting on the rest. Last year just two stays in Accor - neither credited - I did log them but did not have access to a scanner to send invoices so gave up (lazy me).

There appear to be a few problems with the "missing points" system.

1. Says that a response to missing points will be received within 48 hours. But response takes two weeks.
2. Says Accor should show ithin 10 days and partners within 6 weeks. But on logging for actual accor hotel (not partner) get response saying wait six weeks.
3. Will not accept online email booking confirmation as proof of payment, even though it is a prepay non-refundable tarriff - will only accept invoice. Full invoices are not usually provided on checkout in New Zealand - only includes addtional items such as meals.
4. A-club telling hotel already logged points when I can see they actually only logged them the day the hotel contacted them (this occured last week and the stay was in May).
5. Responses containing poor English in standard email e.g. "we have well received your.....".
6. Will only accept doc and pdf files, not docx (latest version of MS Word), so have to convert files to be accepted.

I am now ensuring I obtain a copy of all invoices on checkout and scanning them up ready to claim my missing points. As it looks like they are never logged. I have provided all this feedback via generic website feedback - but ....no response even though it was a very nice email (honest).

That said the Advantage Plus club is great. Saved me thousands. Just wish I could get the points directly credited when paying via the advantageplus website.

If someone from Accor is reading this - please help!

How would you know that the points aren't just posting automatically if you send it in the day after you checkout?

Because they NEVER post automatically - safer to assume that they won't!

That is simply not true, I had over 20 stays this year so far at Accor Hotels (Sofitel, Novotel and MGallery hotels) in Europe, the US and Latin America and they all posted within usually 3 days, in most cases the day after check out. All were booked via the A-club website.

Just sent a claim in for missing points for an Amsterdam stay in September. Waited the 10 days and nothing was posted. 12 hours after my claim was sent (including a PDF of the invoice) the nights were accrued.

This was my first retro claim I had to make out of 10 stays...

IMO the retro claim of points/nights (whatever you want to call it) works perfectly with Accor. ^

I was being mildly facetious - the track record of posting points automatically varies WILDLY amongst Accor properties - some are 100%, others 0%.

I've had exactly the same experience as you. However, since august and the implementation of their new system, it's 100% everywhere I stay.
