Alitalia from Rome to Chicago is, according to the schedule, in a 764. Is that a Boeing 767-300 in Seatguru?
Would you advice me to rather fly Alitalia, United or Lufthansa in Eco? There is a SEN status with LH, a standard status with Alitalia and a standard status with United.

Yep 767-300 although used to be a A330 (AIR ONE)
I'd always fly direct - no question

Yes, "764" was an old internal configuration designation for Alitalia.
Anyway AZ do not have 767-400 or 767-200, they only operate with B767-300.

Well, if you are travelling between Rome and Chicago, I would advice you to take Alitalia since direct flight (AA too links FCO to ORD in the summer season).

The flight is actually from Rome to Las Vegas.
Could either be done with AZ to ORD and then on a separate ticket. Advantage: I would be able to collect the missing miles for an award.
Disadvantage: I have no upper status with SkyTeam.
Could also be done on some * airline where I have a gold status and thus lounge access.
