Beware of SIXT pricing!! I had a reservation and quoted price for a car in Dresden, Germany. I could hardlly see straight let alone review the charges after the flight. They charged me double the quoted rate and I am now disputing the charges. They even admitted that the charges were incorrect but are not fixing them. I should of caught it at the time. But they are ripping me off. Hopefully I will come back and say they corrected the error but I really doubt it.
So take the time to review all paperwork before signing.

Hertz MIA tried to do this last summer. Their counter computer wouldn't let them input AAA CDP, underage PC, and one-way RQ. So they presented me with a contract for $194 instead of "guaranteed" $64.
Some might instinctively have asked "Why so high?" But I knew that's not the issue. If I had agreed to a high rate when I booked, ex booking one hour before closing and getting $40 + airport tax for a subcompact, that would be acceptable. But the real question, which I carefully phrased, was "Why is it different?"
They re-printed the contract with some other highball unacceptable number. Again I refused to sign it and held up my "guaranteed" reservation. The agent said he already closed out the rental. Some nerve. Too bad. I'm not signing for anything other than my "guaranteed" rate, otherwise buy me a plane ticket home. I insisted he call corporate, who told him how to re-open the rental and fix it to the rate I agreed to when I booked.
It was interesting to note the difference in competence between Hertz MIA and an HLE near SFO. The GA-plated Escape they gave me was slightly less than half full. After 2 hours of driving, the car drank it all, leaving me no choice but to refuel with expensive CA gas in Sacramento. I was so mad that in the first 2 hours I already had to pay $50 to fill the big tank. This was exactly why I wanted a subcompact. But it's nobody's fault. Blame CA emissions rules.
I wanted to calculate the gas mileage, and realized that the Hertz receipt will list the gas tank capacity at the top. 18.5 gal. Sheesh, no wonder, at $3+ a gallon. Ah, but worse, they listed the tank as given full. I called the receiving NY branch, who said to call the CA branch. Of course I called them right away. I spoke to the lady I had seen helping another customer that morning. She was very apologetic and was easily able to re-open the rental to fix it for me. ^^
They charged me double the quoted rate
Could you be more specific what was included in the reserved rate (base rate, insurance etc) and what was added or changed in the rate they charged you?
Have one rental coming up with Sixt and would like to know what to be aware of.

If it was double, I highly doubt it was due to unforeseen taxes.
