Other North & South America Frequent Flyer Programs - LanPass "Flex Awards" availability issues

My hope was that LAN's recent change to the new higher mileage "Flex Awards" was going to release additional seat inventory, but I am not seeing this. It seems that it is almost worse than it was before.

I am trying to secure a single business class award on a LIM-MIA flight on January 11 - flight 2514. I already have 4 seats confirmed and booked and I need one more seat.

There are 30 seats total on this flight and I show that there are still 15 seats available for sale. The first row is pre-blocked out (like they typically are on many flights) so that means that they have only booked 9 seats (my 4 +5 others) and yet there isn't any flex award availability...even at the higher KM levels? I mean the whole point of the higher KM levels was to release more inventory.

Does anyone have any thoughts if LAN will release more seats?
Are these flights typically going out with the Business Class section full?

Frustrating! Makes me want to bang my head against the wall! :-)

Here is an interesting tidbit on award availability that I uncovered as part of my issue of trying to get one more LanPass award.
It seems that the LAN availability is not the same when you select a different version of the LAN website.
I found that if I used the Argentina version that there was award availability while the USA version didn't show any!
I was not able to complete the entire transaction online, but I was able to hold the seat and then called customer service to pay the fees and ticket it.

Just something to keep in mind if you are having issues with LAN award availability.

afaik the flex awards are only available for coach class. moreover i read in another thread that lan only releases 4 award seats per flight in business class so you seem to have the maximum number of biz award seats already.

You're right the Argentine version has more options but it's still too high

JFK-GYE - 88,000 kms in coach for early Dec. hahahaha - Last year I had two options, either 48K in coach or 90k in Business. I chose BC. I'm not going to redeem those hard earned kms for a flexible coach award !
